I personally would be fine with that lol! I'm just over this cold weather. I have too many outside projects to do. I'm starting to think we're going to skip summer and go straight to fall but I hope not.
What brand of epoxy primer are you using? I'm strongly considering doing my truck this year or the next. I'd only be doing the outside, and just black, but I'd want a good primer/sealer down first.
I’ve been using all SPI products. The only thing I’m not 100% on is the 2k primer. I’ve had issues with it. Possibly self inflicted as I’m no experienced painter. The epoxy primer is nice. Unlike a lot of them you could block a car in it if you wanted. Not as easy as sanding the 2k primer but not bad really.
That's the one I was thinking about using. I'm "thinking" of using cheap primer one panel at a time and then spraying it with the SPI Epoxy, then topcoating. I don't have the space or time to tear into it like you did and do everything at once, but I could do the door, then do the fender a few days later... then sand it all and shoot it with the Epoxy.
I wouldn’t do that. I’d go with the epoxy one fender at a time first. You will probably end up over coating it again anyway because of the recoat window. You don’t want anything under the epoxy to compromise the adhesion. It’s designed to go over bare metal. It doesn’t play well with like acid etch primer.
Edit: another point. Cheap primers are not water proof and can actually trap moisture against the metal and loose adhesion. They need top coated right away. The spi stuff is about 80$ a sprayable gallon so if you are careful not to mix too much you wouldn’t really be wasting anything.

The epoxy primer has always been great. It’s the 2k that has given me trouble. The only time this stuff has caused me any trouble is when I get heavy handed with it. If it gets too heavy it may not just run, it will look like it’s separating or going over contamination. If you keep it light coats, it works beautiful.

Ran out of steam. About 1/3 or better done I’d say. You can see one of the dings in the last picture. I’ll get as much as I can with it standing up, then I’ll lay it down and put it back on the table to finish up.
Noob question. Fuel doors. On or off for paint? What do you guys do? How would you paint them? Jam it out in color then jam it out in clear?

I would take the doors off. The chance of a screw up with them on is higher for the amount of time it takes to just un bolt them and do it separate.
The odd part with factory metal is it looks straight but once primed and blocked out I always get surprised of the amount of imperfections and how it even looked good.
