The V band intake is neat, but its definitely dealers choice in my opinion. Id only consider it if I had problems with the intake boot popping off, but I don't.

You could go with the 110cc pump, but let me explain how the pumps work first;
When buying a bigger pump, the listed cc/stroke is maximum fueling allowed at max throttle. You will still have the same power and fueling curve at similar throttle positions as any other pump. Keep in mind, more fuel= more EGTs.

I was told by a few engine builders a 90cc pump is kind of max for stock internals, if wanted to go larger then the machined PSD rods are the way to go. So there is the line beteeen stock internals and upgrading.

I live in a big city with lots of shops who can do head work, but if you are able to be without your heads for a few months, send them to Justin at https://idiperformance.com/ he will do the cleaning, deck it, and put turbo valves with comp springs in it.

Mind you, he is a one man show, it may take him a while to get to it.

I think that covers all you asked.. If i missed anything let me know.
Yeah, I can go without them for a couple months. Im trying to get it back together as quick as possible, but my main focus is doing everything right. I want this to last me a long time.
That's another thing I've been trying to figure out, should I get these heads redone or buy new ones. I'll definitely send him a an email.
Yeah that's what I was originally going to go with was pistons and rods from R &D IDI Performance, until you said I should be good on stock internals.
You've definitely got me talked into getting this intercooled turbo kit from Classic Diesel Designs, instead of the non-intercooled one.
The block is at the machine shop, but I'm just having him really look over things, hone the piston walls to freshen them up, and put in cam bearings and freeze plugs. Do you have a brand that you would recommend i go with for the rings and stuff?

Don't forget the Factory Turbo rods which will use the same pistons as the PSD rods.
Mine isn't factory turboed. Plus I thought that none of the idi's came with a turbo from the "factory". I thought it was a special order thing that the dealers had some 3rd party put on.

I sent him an email last week actually and haven't heard anything back yet.
Oh and I can get a wastegate delete with a 3" hoodstack or downpipe with that turbo kit for just another $350.

In 94, there was an option for a factory turbo. Upgraded internals over the non turbo version, larger con rods with bigger wrist pins, and different valves. Also a larger oil port for the turbo feed, where the oil pressure sensor is on non turbo versions.

The turbo system used on these factory turbo engines was a lightly modified ATS 093 system, it had a smaller, oval shaped downpipe, and an airbox that said, “Ford TURBO” rather than ATS TURBO. There were some other minor differences pertaining to extra heat shields and an air filter flow indicator, and some stuff with the crankcase vent, but for the most part, the turbo systems were pretty similar between the factory and aftermarket renditions.

There may be more differences that I am not aware of, but these are the main points.

He can take a while to get back to you, especially with the holidays right now. Your best bet is to call him, I'd wait til after the first of the year.

As for rings, on the engine I am currently building I went with Mahle stock rings. Some people prefer gapless rings, it is a good option too. I got my rings off Rockauto.

Hi in the Cascades, Nearly- Redmond,Oregon
1993 and 1994 could have turbo's from the factory. My 94 is with VIN code K
Yes my '94 Factory IDIT engine code K (Factory Turbo'ed) I have in my '90 CCLB Dually is one. And I picked up last yr a '93 Factory IDIT F250 ECLB that needs a lot of work but is VIN Code K (Door tag says Dec '93) & also has another engine setting in bed that is VIN Code K.
I used to remember what month Ford started putting Factory IDIT out/on market. IIRC they were about 1 1/2 yrs (mid '93 thru most of '94) or maybe closer to 2 full yrs????
During this time there was IDI NA & IDIT rigs on market. And PS diesels were (IIRC) coming on market late mid to late '94.
Don't hold me to all this being true....... (Once in a great while I R WRONG! LOL LOL)

I figured it would probably after the first of the year.
Hopefully I'll hear back from him and I can get at least rings if not rings, pistons, and rods. I'm still thinking about going with a cam from him.
That what the only thing that had wear on it was the cam and the rollers.

I think it was Agnem or someone who said the down pipe on these factory turbos looked like it was ran over with a forklift before they put it on. Then someone had a picture of one, and it really did look like the factory took a perfectly good piece of exhaust pipe, and ran over it with a forklift before they installed it.

Yes factory downpipe do look runned over by something, flat & thin & choked up!!
When I put my '94 FIDIT engine in my '90 CCLB Dually I ordered a, IIRC a 3" round downpipe from..... now don't remember, but was pretty cheap.

Anyway I did some modifying on it, installed it etc, etc, & went into a US Gear 3 1/2" Exhaust Brake, then into a 4" straight exhaust pipe.
It helped me installing it with plenty of firewall room cause years & years ago I built & installed a 4" body-lift & a 4" frame lift.
(I had got VERY tired of trying to crawl round under Bessie & not have room with my
FAT BELLY! LOL LOL)

BTW on slightly different note, first Factory IDIT engine/truck I recall seeing was about,
IIRC, about Oct'93 down at Eugene, Or at a Ford Dealership. I currently had an ATS 088 turbo on my '90 IDI NA.

You can but max spec is .03” per other members
Thanks for the info. But you definitely don't have to worry about going .010" or .020 over. The person I was replying to was trying to act like any kind of boring on the cylinder wall was dangerous.
