No. They suck alright, they just don't pump very well or for long.

Not sure what vehicle you put it on, but I've also read that the TSV is a restriction that needs to be overcome for the larger IPs. It would be cool to see what your creation could support with and without TSV - for those of us that like the range of having two tanks.

6 port manual valve can solve this issue.

wouldnt be any good for that kind of application. from a flow standpoint.
crash derby stuff is low buck and minimalistic.
not to mention that they dont use long periods of load.

however, alternative fuels and the ability to rebuild them for cheap may be appealing.

not to mention that these are made in U.S.A. not usa

The days of low buck and minimalistic derby are generally in the past. Common to see $50k in cars now. Derby at bristol recently had $400k total purse. That said, there is still a street stock class for people that want to just knock windows out.

This week I have to order two 110cc R&D pumps, rails, injectors, cam, studs, springs, intake etc.. adds up quick. I rebuild my own c6s but it takes $1k in parts alone. That’s before driveshaft and rear ends that I have full spooled, 4140 cut shafts. The list goes on, you try not to add it up like any motorsport .

Anyway - to @IDIoit post and the exchange, I’m barely around here anymore but we (me and idioit) keep in touch off the forum. I have very specific use cases that doesn’t apply to really anyone else. I use Holley electric pump set and prefer it. Just me - the only one stubborn enough to use IDIs in derby when most other people are using full roller SBCs.

i delete the factory 2 tank system.

all 38 gallon single tanks in my rigs.
on my vehicles with 2 tanks i run mechanical ball valves.
pretty costly, but worth every penny

Have thought of the same. Where are you taking pressure reading at? Almost should have reading before and after the filter. Is there a good way to take pressure readings after the injection pumps transfer pump before the high pressure? Transfer pump pressure would be the most telling.

I think it's a great idea for a medium hp build or someone who just wants to keep it mechanical. In 2010 or so when I put in Moose pump and misters, I knew the factory lift pump wouldn't keep up. I tried mechanical first, using a RobbMc pump, upper housing and diapragm from a new stock pump. It worked good for a few years, not as well as the Raptor electric pump I installed with my second turbo upgrade, though. I didn't run large enough fuel lines most likely, just 3/8". The chevy pumps will be much cheaper. Solid concept, keep it up.

i usually have a pre filter mechanical pressure gauge , and then run a electric fuel pressure gauge in the cab after the filter.
tells me everything ill ever need to know.

I think this is great. I had a mechanical fuel pump fail and fill my crankcase with diesel, early on with my first truck. Tried several mechanical pumps within a year after that. They could not keep up with a stock IDIT. They would not pump enough fuel and failed very quickly. After that I went electric and never looked back. I just didnt want to deal with parts failing so quickly or not working out of the box. If these are more reliable and can pump more fuel at the same time I think it is a great alternative.

I subscribe to it. Haven't had a choice due to finances. Common doesn't mean its sensible or within reach for all.

Yeah my comment was in response to derby being low buck and minimalistic. MWFA has been gaining popularity and that still provides really anyone a chance.

Ironically while talking about this just saw a $30k Lincoln go by.

Like your hands on, do as you like, l simply assed an electric fuel pump to prime my old goat cause sh has bleed back issues but will still run 110 on I 10 which I did 2 days ago heehee !
