1993 f 250 xlt extended long bed 7.3 factory turbo manual
hello everyone I am currently in the process of looking for an electronic fuel pump but not just to replace my factory mechanical one i was hoping for a bit of an upgrade i plan on turning up my injection pump a bit as well a running more boost only issue is most the electronic fuel pumps i am aware of are producing the same psi mechanical pump and the closest I've found to a performance increase is a 1 psi gain from the facet dura lift 40222 to my understanding the mechanical pump only produces around 5 psi but is very consistent vs an electronic pump may produce around 6 psi at idle but will drop to around 4 psi under load i was told that the facet dural lift 40222 produces about 7 psi idle and 6 psi under load. do you believe this is enough of a fuel increase to provide ample diesel to the injection pump once it is turned up? my fear is lack of lubrication in the IP do to insignificant amounts of diesel may pre maturely burn up my IP. if the facet dura lift 40222 is not sufficient what EFP should I use?

Kdo's right. It's not the pressure that you need for our applications, it's volume. Out injector pumps are only designed for about 7-9 PSI max. You do need a lot of volume of fuel going to your engine to keep the pressure where it needs to be.

I understand so with the holly red system i will have enough volume to safely turn up my IP. on that note how many GPH are recommended

do you think i would have any negative side effects of running a holly blue it produces 110GPH at 14 psi would that damage my injection pump

With a return type regulator, you'll be ok.
Hit the lift pump threads before you buy an e pump.
IdIot has a ?100?gpm mechanical conversion.
There's a metric s h i t t u n of threads here for research.
Till you go full tilt, 1/2 flat won't be an issue.

You don't need a returning regulator. Just a regular one. The black needs a returning regulator. Some blues can be bought with the regulator. Mine came with one.

Did he ever finish it? I hadn't seen that part of the thread. More importantly, does he have any for sale.

I don't like spring regulators, but cheap is as cheap does till we get an American product...
We seriously need to do a sticky for this...

No one needs a regulator period (stock) .
But we're not talking stock.
