How can I be the IP if the IP is not gett
Well it’s running good for 10 minutes then randomly gets a rough idle and stalls. I know the feed is good because I replaced it, the return lines look good, and I can’t see a small return leak causing enough an issue to shut it down. It’s getting enough fuel to fire off and run for 10 minutes, I believe the injection pump is giving out after a certain period or temperature

The pickup is on the end of the hose on the sending unit.Looks like a shower head. I would change out the fuel filter. My 87 would run for a little bit then die cause the fuel filter would load up. If it's been sitting that should be one of the first things to change anyway.

My sending unit 100% did not have that attached… I didn’t see it in the tank but Its possible it’s in there. Is that thing mandatory for proper feed?

There will be about 6 gallons or so in the bottom of the tank that will not get drawn out by the lift pump without the shower head. Ask me how I know!

That’s surprising, it looks like it serves the purpose of a filter more than anything. I don’t think the shower head is my issue, as the tank has been full to the point of pouring out of the gas cap due to return from boat tank. The truck has 290k miles.. I think it’s more than due for an IP, injectors and return line kit.
