What kit is that? I have been wanting to do this swap on my truck but I am not sure what one to use.

Blowing diesel designs. It’s very user friendly. They work great on my bullnose frame, just have to drill more holes than an obs frame. I like that they are stock height buckets so everything can work as stock.

No sir so this is an 80’s frame with 05+ axles and suspension. You are correct that it follows the frame, but that is not a huge concern for me at this point in time.

OK, gotcha. I have thought about changing our the rear axle off a 03 - 05 for the Disk Brakes. Do need to redrill the Hubbs for the 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern if you want to stay with your stock wheels.
I bought the template to redrill them, A shop in Sparks, Nv. sells them for about $35. If interested I`ll look up the name.

I wanted to stay with the stock wheels but after 2005 the brakes got a lot bigger. I guess it’s a worthy sacrifice.

I would like to say that after taking a brief hiatus due to life I guess, working on old trucks is refreshing and stressful at the same time. I love that there are so few wires, but I hate how there are no relays or more than 1 fuse panels

Also! My wonderful girlfriend purchased me a Caravan camper shell. These are made fairly close to me (and some of you are probably familiar) in Reno. I’ve wanted one forever.

No pictures yet but I swapped the dash harness from the “new” truck into my old blue dash. I love how many wires there are, for like 5 things. I’m going to run the wire from the fuel selector switch to a relay for the fuel pump. I think that will be pretty slick and kind of a safety thing. Since I only have 1 tank, the switch has no use.

They would get a pretty good distance away lol, I remember driving with the pump off and it took a solid 3-4 minutes to start cutting out.

What have I done since the last post? Mostly cleaned out my barn and tried to get rid of the rest of the parts truck. Tonight I threw the bumper from the parts truck on here. Gonna try my best to do the brake lines. I made a full list of what I need to finish today at work and thought, holy crap. On the bright side, I think the 6.9 I pulled from the parts truck is a runner although I will not be using it. I’ll definitely keep it because you know, maybe it’ll be an excuse for me to buy another truck once this one runs.

If you are wondering about the campers in the background. We (my family) bought a few acres outside of town, have to re do the house (my parents). I am going to build something at some point, not sure what. Permits suck in California . More than likely will just plead the 5th on my housing endeavors. But I just realized I never showed you my 2nd prized possession. My 2006 Jayco that I hope to take camping and not live in by summertime. My consensus with campers is that they are all kinda built like **** but just try to find the Amish ones. That’s what I did. Weirdly had to search far and wide for this specific model but it was a pretty good deal for California and is not gross inside like a lot of trailers you see. Been my home for a few months. I bought it with intentions to tow it with the idi or any future 1/2 ton perhaps? Not sure if I could ever own a truck with less than 8 lugs other than the ranger.

In my experience, rv's, travel trailers, and in bed campers, the older they are, the better built they are. Really gives meaning to "ain't built like they used to."
