I’ve been toying with the idea of making a DIY Aussie setup. You can buy the 5x7 buckets on Amazon for $60ish, and then I might cut apart a set of stock headlights to make it “fit”
It's been done before and it turned out looking pretty good.I’ve been toying with the idea of making a DIY Aussie setup. You can buy the 5x7 buckets on Amazon for $60ish, and then I might cut apart a set of stock headlights to make it “fit”
I get my stock seal Beams from PNP auto supply.I like the stock 1993 headlight appearance - which I recently replaced as the ones I installed in 2006 had already started getting fogged plus one had moisture inside. I've seen too many older vehicle's stock looks spoiled by new-age headlamps that look too different when off. The traditional stock replacement assemblies are starting to get a little harder to find for this 30 year old vehicle.
Yes it is, but it's been zombized. It's back and walking around again. It's also talking about brighter than stock headlights. Your purchasing location does make a lot of sense.I get my stock seal Beams from PNP auto supply.
Note: Just realized this thread is 1 1/2 yr old....

Did a search for PNP Auto Supply, found a salvage yard in NY, and something registered in Malaysia, but no site for them.I get my stock seal Beams from PNP auto supply.
It's a newby super power, old news to you guys, a mystical world of magic to me...Yes it is, but it's been zombized. It's back and walking around again.
Isn't there a decomissioned plane site somewhere in Nevada or California? I know I've heard of it, but I can't remember where it's at.Where can I find some Boeing 747 Landing Lights???
Yeah it`s war with these new high powered head Lights.
Over the last couple years has been an increase of "drivers" that just run high beam as soon as it's dark. The few times I've had my fill with someone following behind that refused to dim, so I slowed to a stop in the middle of the road to prevent passing, then got out and went to their door, it al always been some ESL individual.Problem is everyone with any newer truck always lifts those ugly trucks up with ridiculous lifts, big rims and tires, and then pavement princesses them around and never take into account of adjusting them.
It's beginning with I think a 3k LM is the base, but enforcement will be an issue.Switch it from 45 watts max to a lumens equivalent max. I definitely liked it better when all headlamps were dimmer yellow.
Especially with low clouds, the white light reflects back.I personally think this white lighting absolutely sucks in the rain. Yellow light seems to scatter much better
Yes, it is in mojave, Ca., Just went by there couple weeks ago.Isn't there a decomissioned plane site somewhere in Nevada or California? I know I've heard of it, but I can't remember where it's at.
It is definitely different. Some years ago my lab had replaced our microscope ring lights with LEDs, bright white scale. We found that light above a certain kelvin causes some level of reflective distortion in extremely fine features, such as micro cracks. It sounds kind of silly but our QA manager and CWI setup two scopes side by side and had a dozen inspectors perform side by side comparisons at 40x magnification. All of them could pickup on cracks in the old hallogen lights (~4500K) but saw no indications when viewed with the LEDs (~6500K). None of us really thought of performing that test, fortunately our QA/CWI manager is a borderline genius. Scrapped all the LEDs after that.I personally think this white lighting absolutely sucks in the rain. Yellow light seems to scatter much better
