TDI swap a Ford Ranger!!! They are reporting mid 30’s to low 40’s
Honestly if I could find the correct ranger I would drive it as is. My wife tells me I'm too picky to ever get one though.

I bought a couple of rangers back around 06 and was going to build a driver out of the 2.

One was a 96 v6, 4x4, 5spd that ran and moved. It had been rolled and destroyed the entire body. The other was a 94 5spd with a 2.3 that burned more oil than gas.

I should have built it but I got an offer to trade them for the 84 shortwide f150 that I still have.

@Cant Write thanks. I do love my trucks, but they all have their own issues and need alot of little stuff. I just can't give up on the old stuff.

But I will deal with their quirks over the thousands of dollars that we spent on the newer vehicles that we had.

Hi in the Cascades, Nearly- Redmond,Oregon
Now the way I under stand it here, I can drive w/o a med. if it isn`t something for hire. Start hauling stuff for hire then need a medical.

Turn 80 in Jan., I have no medical issues, no drugs, colestral, high BP, don`t smoke etc... what`s wrong with me?
Iam still running around like Iam 23, keepin on till I can`t keep on. Sit around, and you are done for.....make it happin.

I see people way younger than I am, and talk about how old they are. Old between the ears.

Actually here in Oregon I'm not sure if I have to have a medical till I drive or not, they send letter ever 2 yrs.
Last time I went to different Dr & he said "Anybody ever told you that you need glasses?" I was looking across the room where the voice was coming from at something (2-3 of them) moving round, I think maybe it was the Dr..... Anyway I said "No."
Few yr ago I was giving a kid ride ever nite back from Bend to Redmond, kept asking him "What that sign up there say?" Finally one nite he asked "How you see to drive?" I responded by saying "Oh easy. I just always stay to right of those shiny things coming at us." After that he wouldn't ride with me!!! LOL LOL

And BTW. I don't slow down! Dr tell me to not do something, then I go home & do it anyway!!!!

Yeah, you better get some Glass`s.

Been here 10 years this month, but when we wee moving from Ca. to here, spent all day loading, sorting stuff, and would leave 9pm or so, Would be driving late at night and finally pull in here 1 or 2am. It`s a 5 hr drive not loaded.

Come over Hwy 50, which takes you through Tahoe. Some of it is windy, 2 lane, and darker than the inside a Black Cat. I was never over loaded... ;Really pulling the steep grades 2nd gear giving her heck 25 mph, and pizzin off the kids trying to get to Tahoe before the lake dried up...LOL. Would come up behind me with their High beams on flashing them. Heck I was going as fast as the truck was going, what was their problem....?

Any way, I was getting this double vision, just thought my eye`s were tired, and driving with one eye open.
Finally got some glass`s to correct it, but every year get new glass`s as the old eye`s change.
Got Catarak (SP) Surgery last June, fixed one problem, but still the Double Vision.

I ask my Wife, which road should I take, one to right or left?
But then I get double the pleasure with my Wife... -Showtits life is good.

With as bright as the head lights are today on all the new vehicle`s, their low beam`s are brighter than my High Beams. Flash my weak high beams, and they flash back.....
am I on a Run Way and that is a 747 landing in front of me?....

W T F? I'm class B in WA, how can Oregon justify pulling your DL when you don't need a medical to have one, just because you failed it for your CDL?

I don't know about you Northern guys but in Calif you MUST have a valid medical card to keep your Class A or B license. I had a class B for several years and it was taken from me when I was convicted of a DUI offense. The insurance increases would have bankrupt me also. I sold my ten wheeler and went back to carpentry. I quit drinking in 1995 and have been sober for almost 29 years new! I do not miss drinking a bit. I did miss my friends who I drank with...

I have never had it, not old enough, but I see no reason for myself to ever have the stuff. Been offered it many a time, but, for one, illegal, and also, just no thank you.

Both my dad, and his dad, are also dry life. Never had it. Never will.

My grandpa on my mom’s side, who I am very close with, was an alcoholic at one point in his life, but, think he is 40ish years dry. My mom doesn’t drink, except maybe a sip of champagne at a wedding or something. But, no one in my family is a heavy drinker per se

I like the taste of SODA POP. Might give you a headache if you drink way too much, stomachache if you drink gallons, (don’t ask how I know) but won’t get you drunk! My dad to this day, also drinks a hell of a lot of MTN DEW and Dr Pepper.

I don't get too worried about numbers, but after totaling out a truck back in '09 that most people couldn't believe I survived. The Truck and some scrapes and bruises and an uprooted tree were the only damage so i made a promise to the man upstairs that I wouldn't gamble with anyone else's life again.

I will drive around on my property and run equipment while drinking a few, if I've had more than 2 I won't drive on the road.

Actually come to think of it every 2 yrs coming up on my physical the letter gives me 2-3 mo to get it or my license will expire. I have a Class A with endorsements.
Thru the yrs I've managed to get my physical up to bout Feb-March instead of Oct, my birthday, by waiting till last minute to get my physical. LOL

The reason I have been successful in quitting is I wanted to quit. Not my parents nor the court made that decision, I did. Several friends have quit but go back to drinking after a while. This is how life works; YOU have to make the choice and follow your choice.
