While the clutch still grabs just fine when I let it go, it starts to slip when the engine reaches higher speeds in almost all gears. I'm guessing I need a new clutch. I have never done this before, so I thought I would ask.

Best DMF? (If I just want to replace it and be done)
Best SMF? (Maybe an upgrade?)

Procedure writeup anywhere?

Any help will be appreciated.

Check out the DMF Lucky Mod conversion tech article for starters. That saves you a ton of money.

I'd suggest the Lucky Mod or a SMF. I'd also suggest a South Bend Clutch.

Get the carpet up to expose the tranny tunnel pan. Remove that pan and then the shifter from the tranny. Trust me, you will not get the transmission out of there with that dang pan in the way. Take your time and be sure to get the old flywheel resurfaced (if doing the Lucky Mod) before putting a new clutch on there. If you get a new SMF, no need to resurface.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd get a TOB with a greese fitting.

Sorry, no write up that I know of.

smf all the way! i had already done it before i heard of the lucky mod, and wouldn't change a thing. i'm going to figure out if you can bolt a SB clutch to a LUK solid flywheel before i bolt my "new" trans in.
