TRANSMISSION SWAP

I have an 1987 $WD F250 with the 6.9 and the C6 transmission, would like to put in the 5 speed overdrive manual transmission in it to get engine RPMS down on the highway. If I get one of these from the same year, is it a straight bolt-in swap, or is modification needed such as move crossmember and different driveshaft lengths, etc?

i'm about to do one.
the zf is a different size. you'll want to get the crossmember and driveshaft from the truck or have the driveshaft re-sized.

yeah I left mine at h2o's house.
local junkyard can provide very cheaply, In my case at least... junked extended cab zf5 equipt trucks are easy to find.
