New trucks are looking evermore tempting
Yea understandable but only until anything goes wrong and it’s costs 10Xs as much and 10Xs as long to repair.

Why would a vacuum pump belt affect the water pump belt? I’ve never had a vacuum pump even go out I still have vacuum brakes. I got ride of everything else vacuum a long time ago.

Perhaps, but I would get a gas truck if I bought new.

There’s a reason they make new trucks, and people buy them… just sayin…

I drive a lot. New trucks with no wear or mileage are indeed enticing.

Serpentine, not V belts. That truck has hydroboost brakes, which I also lost due to it being one belt. Thankfully the hydroboost has an accumulator so I was able to stop safely.

I spent all weekend cleaning up after last week Tuesday's storm. Made a number of trips to the city's yard waste recycling center. The truck even snuck into a report done by the local TV station.

Towed into the clutch shop finally haha. Don’t have a driveway and it just wasn’t happening to diy the clutch on the side of the road. As much as I like fixing on the side the road..

Spoke with Justin earlier, he finally had a moment to check out the Russ injectors I sent him. Obviously there was the bad one.
But as Justin put it, four were barely passable, and three of them were absolute sh**. The one that was stuck open, the core is completely bad. So long story short I need one whole injector, four nozzles, then the other four reworked to be balanced out.

I dont intend to keep the injectors or make a profit off them, so the guy who was interested in them I passed him a message about the cost of fixing them. Time to just wash my hands of cruddy parts.

Justin buys new injectors, then pop tests them and gets them
all working together.
Does not rebuild used one`s.
That`s what he told me when I was at his shop couple years ago.

I asked if he would make an exception because the Russ injectors didnt last a year and only made it 2000 miles. I'd go ask Russ to honor his warranty but.....

Anyways, he said he'd take it on but charge labor/parts of course.

I got a call from a buddy that says a little old lady got ride of her animals and has a “bunch” of brand new feed bags so the wife and I jump into the 90 and head over. We roll up and she points us to a big shed and says take it all. We open the door and there they sit. 3 bags of feed. Like $40 worth. It was a 25mile drive with fuel at almost $6 a gallon. So so it took 2-3 gallons of fuel in stop and go traffic. Errgggg. But we said thank you very much and gave her a hug. We offered to pay but she said no.

But when we got home ups left us a gift. I finally made the decision on what cell phone and accessories mounting system to go with. My cup holders can hold cups again and the cell phones and later tablet/gps for hunting can go on the mounts as well

I replaced the steering linkages about three months ago. I greased them buy forgot the rear driveshaft. I changed the oil a couple of months ago and forgot to grease the rear driveshaft. Today, I FINALLY remembered to grease the rear driveshaft! Now I feel better about tomorrow's road trip.
