All finished. Turned out decent. The truck is still slow, but it’s bearable now. I can finally accelerate uphill, even if not by much.
I adjusted the fuel to where I am very happy with it at any speed above 40, but at lower RPMs and lower speeds, it’s a little bit too smoky.
Hypermax makes an aneroid, which would help to keep the smoke down at lower RPM until the turbo begins to light off, which will clear up any smoke on the top end. I am looking for a clean burn. Most people that used those aneroids have been pretty satisfied with them, so I guess I’ll give one of those a try.
Intercooler is next on the list… I’ll probably try and do that about the same time as the aneroid.
The Hypermax intercooler routes both the hot and cold side charge pipes on the passenger side of the engine. That is somewhat appealing to me because that actually leaves room for me to run a belt driven hydraulic pump on the driver side of the engine.
The big question is whether or not the Workhorse Customs fan clutch that I have will work with the hydraulic pump, if not then I will probably use a large 12 V DC electric motor with a belt to power the pump, if and when I decide that I need hydraulic power for whatever.
