they just put TSC to shame.
I've heard that myself. Their house brand diesel oil is made by one of the big producers (I can't remember which one). There isn't one that's very close to me as far as I've heard. There has been a TSC open by the closest Wal-Mart to me. I went in there a couple of times and, overall, wasn't real impressed. They do seem to have a pretty good selection of stainless steel hardware though. Mostly, I stick to Orscheln since there's a store 20 miles away.

Yeah, I checked the oil prices quickly while I was there, and i noticed rotella was only $12 a gallon. Also I was at BJs the other day, they had 4 gallons of mobil delvac for $34. As far as TSC, they never really impressed me either, but they were the only farm supply local. The thing that bugs me is going to get some parts and they only have half if you're lucky. This Rural King is in an old Sears with a service station, so it is massive and they have everything you need. They also had the 1 gallon containers of PB blaster which I have trouble finding all the time. The have a gun department and the also sell hardware, plumbing, and electrical. If you haven't noticed, I love the store! Lol

I hope Orschlein's does't get ruined.. or worse, closed down... TSC just bought them. I have an Orschelin and TSC in my small-ish town. I goto TSC for dog and cat food... but Orsh has a better selection of everything. Me fear is TSC will shut down the Orsh where they already have a TSC...

I love Rural King also... but not all are created equal.... LOL There a 2 about the same distance from me... one is older, like been around for a decade or more older, and then one that is only 3-4 years old. I go to the one in Shelbyville, it's the newer one. Bigger store, more selection. It was put in an old Wal-Mart (the super was built down the street) the older one here is in I think and old Hills store.. so much smaller..

Back home in Illinois, we have Blain's Farm & Fleet... and they are AWESOME!!!!! Even better than the best RK around. We used to have a local chain called Big R and they were very good too. That was until they were bought by Out-Of-Stock and Field a couple years ago.... and well they are all in the middle of a going out of business sale......

Just installed a steam turbine at the POET in Shelbyville. Frequented that RK.

Always slipped my mind when traveling to reach out. Course, we usually worked 6-8 or so to get the job done. Ate too many meals at bars in small towns because the restaurants all close up shop early.

I don't know. Small town bars usually have better food and sometimes it a better price too. That's just been my experience. Last weekend, I met up with a friend and his wife to eat dinner. We ate in a small bar and grille that was literally two doors and one street from the local college campus. It wasn't too bad of a place to eat. We just walked right in and sat down. It was probably better than the big name sports bar with a 45 minute wait that we tried to go to first.

I agree. But when theres just one bar in the middle of nowhere and you've tried everything on the menu, mostly fried, it can wear in ya.

I'll bet @snicklas has a kitchen.....

That I do..... and Momma is a Southern Girl.... so it's not just the Northern food you would expect..... but I can cook that too....

(Yes I know how to cook, it surprised her mom when she went to pick them up for Thanksgiving, about 4 hours round trip, and they got back to a completed Thanksgiving Dinner, with all the fixins.......)

Yea, Shelbyville has some decent places to eat... but if you went to eat late, your choices are limited. Maybe at the casino.. or the McD's at the truck stop.... but in town there are some good places....

I’m getting really close to rolling the odometer over. I bought the truck with “85000” on it, but I drove it every day for a year and a half with no speedometer plus 15k since last December. So I’m guessing I’ve put like 30 to 40 k on it. I’m excited to hopefully see this odometer keep going back to 0, I’d love to never sell this thing.
