Ok, so in the middle of my military truck idi swap. I am debating about how to run the power steering. I talked to AGR performance in TX and they can make a saginaw pump that will put out tremendous pressure for $370, which is kinda high in my opinion. The truck ran a system off the injection pump gears. I attached pictures of it. I have a few just basic ford steering pumps laying around that I could use on the 87' 6.9. Anyone know the psi they put out as well as the flow rate? AGR didnt really know for sure, and A1 cardone is like talking to your 90 year old deaf grandmother that is as dumb as an India customer service people. The basic power steering system the truck came with is rated at 1500psi max and 5-7gpm according to military records which sometimes are a little confusing cause they had 9 different pumps. I know I would have to run a remote reservoir with it to up the capacity of the sytem as well as make some hoses. I attached pics of the steering gear box, the old PS pump system, and the TM from the vickers company.

I drove a deuce which has no power steering at all. But with this 5 ton it would be helpful with ANY help from power steering. Especially when I chain up and run duals in the front and start pushing snow.

Anyone know the pressures and flow rate?

So why not use a van Saginaw pump? The pumps have the same bolt pattern for the face as most all Saginaw pumps. The reservoirs are the changes, meaning the van brackets with a remote mount reservoir from a Chevy truck.

ford pumps, blow the relief, at approx 1100 psi.. not sure of the gpm flow rating, which would change with rpm. the old ford pumps, didnt have any restrictor in the output fitting,,,,,,,,full flow.....

they arent hard to work on, heck i pulled the whole engine only using box end wrenches and gear wrenches, channel locks and screwdrivers. Not that difficult. I am just in need of a pump that isnt going to eat crap the first time i turn the wheel. I mean anything is better than an m35 with no power steering compared to my 5 ton which is like turning the exxon valdez
