I have yet to see another truck in a wrecking yard with the same color interior. Its always blue, red, or the newer gray stuff.

the seats from 80-97 are all interchangable. and the rear 4dr seat will bolt right into the front seat location and vice versa

True or false?
Seats from 80-97 are interchangable...as long as they come from the same body style - regular cab (RC) , supercab (SC), crewcab (CC)?

I've heard that RC and CC seats are swappable, but SC seats are different.

I've also heard (as you've stated), CC front and rear seats are swappable.

Anyone know the true answers?

I have 2000 seats in mine and the rear cupholder clips onto two fathead studs that stick out of the front of the seat.
I need ideas for a front cupholder, you would have thought that by '91 it would have had some.:mad:

Russ,

How big of a deal was it to get the 2000 seats in your rig? Which seat type did you go with bench/bucket/etc?

Thanks for any info.

thats the reason im asking. i took the buckets out of a 89 supercab and put them in a crewcab and had to drill holes and add shims to make them sit level.

It is a bench in the back and buckets in the front with the flip down in the center.
I made a frame of 3/4x1.5 rect tubing bolted it to the original seat tracks and then to the new seats. I layed the tubing flat and bored the bottom thru for socket clearance so the bolt for the seat is hidden and not in the way. Individual adjustment was not important. Nicer seats were very important.;Sweet

I just took 94 supercab 40-20-40 and put in in a 97 reg cab. Only had to drill the 4 inner holes due to the supercab has 3 seperate brackets with 8 bolts while reg cab and 4dr have on large bracket and only use 4 bolts

as far as puttin a reg cab or 4dr 40-20-40 seat in a supercab, you will need the brackets from a supercab. Otherwise you will not be able to gain access to the supercab

Pretty much a direct bolt on. Just like hustton said you can use a gasser hood bumper, fenders, grill and the only thing that must be from a diesel is the radiator core support.

It was a weekend job. The only modifications needed are like stated the rear bolt on the bottom but its just a grab vice grips and bend deal. You will also need to fabricate a bumper mount as ours on the 80-86 are different than on the newer trucks, all in all it was a fairly easy swap...Any questions PM me or ask, ill gladly help ya.

I notched my gas support to take a diesel radiator..

Bumper should help cross reinforce everything, 400 pounds of Iron...

86 6.9 none fo the gauges/lights worked.. 4wd was non op, front discs were cracked clear through in 4 -5 places, depending on which rotor ya looked at.

Traded a $100 Toyota car for it.. flat be was 3/8 plate, and 108 long, by 91" wide, built to haul two sleds side by side.
1986,6.9,t-19 (?) 3.54 gears.. even with a BHG felt faster than my factory turbo 7.3 crew with 4.11 gears...

Same truck, facelifted, K&N''d, e-fanned...
