Duh of course I do.....but wait....there is more....I will be doing some photos amd document what is what....and....wait...there is more...for 9.99 plus seperate shipping and handling.......bla bla bla...

But in all reality here I am sitting on a bit of testing...for all intents and purposes it APPEARS gasser and diesel guages have same part numbers just a few details for me to work out and compare...

I have figured out something doing the IH diesel logo mod....:sly

Wait for mo details

I cant see how that winch is mounted, and not familiar with brand, (so this might be a stupid question) but is it ok to pull off of the top of the drum like that?
That looks like a worm-drive Ramsey, they do not have the typical mounting "feet" that most planetary winches, instead they bolt up flat against the back side of whatever your fairlead is bolted to in the front. Thus they can spool top or bottom, just make sure the fairlead is offset up or down a bit to match that. Ours is a top-winder, makes it super-easy to make sure the cable goes on there nicely when spooling it back under no load after use.

Yes it is qn RE series winch worm drive. Qccording to Ramsey it is "preferred" to spool from bottom vs top but really both work. It is esse tially same as their hyd winches but with electric motor.

I have an 8 and 12 k of same model....one on truck is 8k....12 destined for rear.

These beasts are probably some of hardest working most under rated winches out there bar none.

Really they are top shelf units and I am pretty sure @LCAM-01XQ Would agree with me...8k in thezes is 12k in planetary easy

Old IH Cub Cadet lawn tractors. Got an old 40's/50's IH refrigerator that I plan to transplant the emblem off my CC 1200 onto :Thumbs Up

Leave the poor Garden Tractor alone..... you can still purchase those emblems, and even the decals if you want them for something else.....

My 1200 is a different story all together. Was my great grandmother's and it eventually burned through an entire quart and a half of oil while mowing and broke the rod without any smoke! Eventually going to rebuild it since the block suffered no damage and use it as the garden/snow blower tractor. I have a complete headlight grill assembly off a 149 that'll go into it. I use the 1250 for the lawn.

:End hijack :Thumbs Up

Underrated my foot - you're the only person I know of that's been able to find super-good deals on them darn things, every time I ever run into one it's always quite a few hundred even for a heavily-used unit.

And funny you should mention the 8k vs 12k rating, while I do think 8k is 8k regardless of what the winch is, AFAIK with the Ramseys the only difference between them is in the gearbox that drives the worm screw... Pierce is another brand that does that btw, and there was still another that can't think of right now.

I had a 104 had some engine problems traded it for the first truck.
Still wish I had that tractor.

Oh no, you were correct, I do like these winches a lot... but as far as I can tell from their prices online, so does everyone else too :D You called them underrated, I don't think they are - from what I see just about anyone who has one knows what they are worth, and is either holding onto them or pricing them accordingly.

The planetaries are somewhat different tho, there is more going on there than just geartrain changes. Still I'd rather have a worm-drive... Btw Ramsey does have a 10k unit that is a fast worm, not slow like the RE series, never seen it in person so idk how they pulled that off tho.

I meant under rated as in an 8k rating....but pulls like 10 or 12 k planetary...

These are usually exceedingly well priced a d when I offer one of mine for 500 I am scoffed at.....what I can buy bla bla bla at for ***....ok do it

Drove 3 hours one way and paid about 400-500 for ours IIRC. Didn't even come with the remote either, but the heck do I care, $10 on evilbay and she's now equipped with one of them industrial crane pendants, waterproof too.

Well noticed my power steering whine has gone buh bye....still great feel and fantastic brakes with Hydro assist. I had whine after booster install and got some product in US and dumped it in. Cannot find name of that product but when I go down for parcel shipping I will grab some more!!! I will post name when I get another bottle

That being said I have chosen to add a filter to my system along with a cooler. Brian brought a filter assembly over for me to use. I will post pics asap.

Now having two return lines into reservior I am considering adding the filter on the return from hydroboost and add my cooler to the steering return line.

First before I do this; there will be a flush of the entire system. That will be some kinda fun...

Cap returns from booster and steering box on reservior. Take return line from steering box and run it into a cooler and out to a bucket. Take booster return and dump it into bucket too.

Block trucks front axle up off ground.

With 2 people run engine at idle and allow pump to drain some...add clear TDH hydraulic fluid to steering pump and turn wheels back and forth and work brakes while dumping fluid into pump...this should pump clean fluid into systems and help flush out booster and steering gear. Add filter into setup and continue flushing until clear.

Shut dow truck and remove reservior caps. Reconnect return lines to reservior and top up pump. Start truck run a bit again bleeding out any air and voila...flushed and filtered ...I am hoping.

I have a 10 Litre jug of TDH to flush system. Current oil looks :puke:

Could be good could be bad....wait and see I suppose.

Then pla hydroassist steering :rotflmao 38" tyres coming soon;Sweet with warmer weather

Thanks for looking
