Those of you who guessed HVAC ducting from inside the cab is right.
Mel is scarry. He even guessed the year:eek:
here's some pics of the truck before and after the gutting and the cab inside. I'm pulling the harness tonite and scrapping the cab this weekend.

Scrapping the cab??? You know how hard it is to find a nice one in the salt-belt of the world? Too bad you're so far away...

you'd scream if you ever saw the body sheetmetal we throw away out here. Unfortunately like you point out, the shipping is a killer. I had this truck around for a few months before I started pulling the truck apart. Motor was siezed and there's no market for regular cab trucks out here. The motors are far too valuable for what you can get for the whole truckcookoo

Yes.. Its true about the sheetmatal that gets scrapped out here. I go hunting in an Ecology pick-part. The "better" wrecks that come in have MOTOR spray painted on the sides. They cherry pick them before they are set out for us to get parts off of. Same with big block chevy motors but big block Fords are everywhere. They had a 91 F450 with a hydroboost complete. I took everything and now its installed on my F350. Thats the pump, master cylinder and brake peddle. I left the hoses. The only reason I took the 1 5/16 inch master cylinder is because it was very new and still closed up with clean brake fluid in it. The hydroboost cost me $16.00. The mc was $16.00 also. Both have a $50.00 core charge at Nappa. I will have some face plantin brakes when I get running again thats for sure.;Sweet

Well, in the winter months I would be willing to travel to get a nice SuperCab longbox if the price is right.
just cruise the Craigslist listings in kali and you will find something that will fit your budget. fresh kali trucks in the rustbelt command a premium to the right buyer...Darrin knows, he's in the business.
As far as bodies are concerned, I have a '87 SC that is complete and in good shape with the peeling factory paint. bad part is a gasser lurks under the hood and "the warden" is salivating for the interior.
