Few years ago I switched from Power Service to Howes...I believe some here stated they liked Howes and gave it praise.
Here I was thinking Howes added some lubricity for the IP and Injectors, turns out with this fellas test it does nothing!
While Howes may help with fuel gelling, it doesn't appear to help lubricate.
Note...at 200:1 ratio the two stroke oil was impressive for preventing wear.
Guess I'll go back to adding TCW3 to the tank.

I've been using the Walmart store brand 2 cycle oil for a few years now, a pint in each tank, so a bit more than an ounce per gallon of fuel. No idea how much wear it's preventing, but no complaints about it, either.

I have 10-12 bottle's of howes in my barn... around here, when it gets real cold, you cant find anything for anti-gel… so I buy the stuff when its summer, or on sale,,,, now im thinking ,,, after seeing this,,, I might be adding 2 stroke oil to it...

I really like Project Farm's channel. I have, over the course of a few weeks, watched EVERY video Todd has published, oldest to newest. He has done some good tests, and have found interesting results. (His channel is why I run SuperTech in my gassers)

He isn't the only one that I've watched all their videos. I watched all of

Right now I'm working my way through AvE's channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChWv6Pn_zP0rI6lgGt3MyfA (but that' gonna take a while...)

Of course, most of us already know Peg and Slave Lake...... Ol Zip Ties & Bis Plies.... F-IN MINT!!!

Ive always ran Howes during the winter and TC-W3 during the warmer season. Stick with howes in the winter. TC-W3 might lubricate better but its not going to prevent your fuel from gelling.

I swear by howes in the winter. My truck starts noticeably better with it when it gets super cold out. I also double the dose up so there is no question if I have added enough. Never had a gelling problem either even below zero.

So then why not use both during the winter? The TCW3 for lubrication and the Howe's for antigel. I usually use Power Service for antigel, but that's because a guy gave me a couple of gallons a while back. I have some Howe's in the bed right now (easy access for use while fueling up) because I was in Menard's a few weeks back and they had some on the shelf. It was about 15*, the north wind was blowing pretty hard (20MPH+), and my Power Service was at home. I bought some Howe's just in case. Honestly, I rarely even put anything in my tank for antigel. If it's supposed to get below about 5*, then I will. Otherwise, the stuff that comes out of the pump is good enough for me. FYI I run Optilube Summertime blend for lubrication. I put both Howe's and Optilube in my tank while filling up before heading home.

I had posted this video awhile back when it came out. Lol in my own vehicles I stick with hot shots secret.

Run Hot Shots in mine also. Tried the 2 stroke oil years back w/o improvement but no Hot Shots then.

Yeah I have also switched away from Howes, to strictly Stanadyne Lubricity Formula and 2 stroke oil when I find it on sale. I have a bunch of Howes around, I use it when really cold or to treat a questionable fuel tank/fuel that has been sitting or will sit, like in a tidy tank or something. And I overdose it BIG TIME. But I no longer count on it for lubricity. Although I did for many years and during those times is when I lost more injection pumps or developed pump leaks due to "probably" low lubricity, in many different applications of rotary style pumps. I don't treat fuel to increase cetane or gain hp performance or any of that crap; I only treat to add lubricity or to prevent gelling in cold weather or attempting to disperse moisture in questionable fuel.

I do the same. I figure that as much as new pumps and injectors cost, why not try to make them last as long as possible?

Exactly. And with the newer junk out there, the injectors are so damn pricy, I would nearly have to declare bankruptcy if I needed a set of injectors and installation.

While TCW3 is designed to be burned in a 'two stroke' I stopped using it because I was wondering 'if' it would cause coking on the back of the intake valves or (what's that re-circulation thing called behind the air cleaner? kinda like a PCV valve) I also noticed a sooty black oily build-up at the end of the exhaust pipe...that's why I stopped using it a few years ago.
The dose I use to run was a pint in each tank at fill-up and/or I would then add an oz per gallon when I got more fuel.
