I am looking into purchasing an engine that has been freshly rebuilt (still needs put partway back together). It's bored .030 over, new cam, crank turned down with new rod and main bearings, and new lifters. It looks pretty good and hopefully I can get it cheap. Now to my questions...

1. He said the valve seats have been ground and valves need to be installed, how hard is this to do?

2. How would I get the timing right since I don't really have any reference points to line up?

I know basic things about engines and I think it would be cool to get this engine running and eventually put it in my truck. Thanks again guys!!!

If its a bored 30 over 7.3 walk away. The liners are too thin and boreing them 30 more will cause cavitation sooner. The gear timing is simple...
