Thanks to all the guys that give me the idea to do a switch instead of buying a new controller for my 86 6.9l. It works great and starts right up now. Again thanks for the ideas and picture that I found on some of your page.

gomez,

Use a timer to ensure that you don't overglow. At the very least, make sure your switch is a N.O. pushbutton and not a toggle.

Jim meant M.O meaning momentarily On pushbutton. If you've got a cd player use the timer on it :sly

What brand of plugs are you running and how long are you holding them on for?
I recently converted mine to a push button and with the ZD-1 glowplugs, 8-9 seconds gets them hot (confirmed this with a bench test) and the truck fires right up without a miss.

I also like that when I start it hot, or even luke warm, I don't even use the plugs; but the controller always cycles them a bit even when hot. Which makes no sense as the plugs don't even remotely get hot from a 2 second cycle that the controller was feeding it
