Are you sure the sending units are bad and it's not a wiring issue?

Does your tank selector valve work?

Is the fuel gauge pegged, won't move, or ?? The sending units go through the tank selector valve, if both are bad I'd check there first. It might just need a cleaning and some dielectric grease.

Where is the tank selector valve? I have an '89 dually and both tanks read past full. Every now and then the fuel gauge works correctly. I'm thinking maybe checking the selector valve and cleaning it up may fix the problem.

On my 89 rig my fuel tank selector valve is just BEHIND the front tank.

On my '92CC the FSV is on the inside of the frame right about at the front on the forward fuel tank.

Here's a picture, so you know what to look for. You can notice the tank on the left edge of the picture. The labels are a bit confusing, but they are correct.

You mean literally at the **** end of the tank? Or between the tank and frame rail?
My 88 it was still at the front of the tank, maybe slightly behind it.
