Looks like it mounts to one manifold, and then a pipe comes from the other manifold and comes in the bottom where they usually exit.

the reason for the low boosting is the way they done the exaust to the turbo, it would work good if it was a pair of those manifolds and a pair of twin turbos, then it would boost plenty but the way thats set up all the exaust is doing is trying to exit the manifold were it normally does then the other manifold is trying to force it into the turbo thats why i think it dont work good

i dont get why they put it on the drivers side? it cant be easy to route the downpipe on the drivers side what with the fuel tanks and mass of electrical wires on that side.

as far as the boost i'm not sure why it wouldn't boost much. its the same way the 6.5l works....

it sure would be easy to work on though. i think all diesels turbos should be mounted off to the side!

Actually it would work better because you will be getting hotter exhaust from the bank it's mounted on. Because the cylinders are right there and the exhaust doesn't have to travel 10' before getting to the turbo. Also the GM 6.
5 uses the same setup and they run plenty of boost and can be easily increased

i have a GM 6.5 stock turbo manifolds with a Banks WG turbo(from a ford idi) mounted where the stocker should be. It will boost to 10psi before you would even know it.
That damn truck is wicked fast.:D;Sweet

the guy that i got mine from said that it started spoolin good at about 1200 rpms and it would have 8 psi before 2500 rpms with his pump up hardly at all. i never got to experiance that because i effed up my oil lines and oil started spraying from the turbo like a sieve. the downpipe is the hard part of that setup, i couldnt figure out how to route one without a pretty good body lift.
