Obs is the exception, but short wide rads DO use the same core support as the gassers.
Unless you try to go by LMC Truck. They only list a gas one for Bull Noses (of course since they no longer make new ones). For the Brick Noses, they list one for gas and a taller one for "diesel without air conditioning". That made NO sense since they didn't list the diesel with A/C option. For the OBS, they list gas, IDI diesel, and PSD diesel (by dates made, not by type of engine). That didn't make sense to me either because I thought that at least the OBS 7.3 PSD used the same radiators as the 7.3 IDI did. If so, why would they need a different radiator support? Especially with a mid year switch between the IDI and the PSD.

all i have heard is rad support discussion,:dunno doesn't the lower rear of the fender mount completely different also? 80-86 bolt mounts upward and 87-91 points straight in. can be modified, but not a bolt on....................

you are 100% correct.
a piece of angle iron will ease that transition if you don't wan to cut the fender.

yes the core support is completely different.
however, the only real thing that separates the gasses from the diesels from the 2 different radiators, is the lower hoop.
if youre crafty enough you can use your brick lower hoop (inbetween the frame rails)

its not that bad of a job. ive done it a few times.

first pic is a 96 crew cab with a bull nose front end.
second pic is Calvins Sulaco
