I have an '89 Centurion and am looking for a powered retracting running board.
It's an F350 idi with a Bronco clip and 2 rows of seats.
I put a 4" 1 ton Superlift on it, and am planning on swapping the 35" tires to 44's.
The problem then will be the 3' from the ground to the step.
Aries makes a retractable step that will go 18", but only works on '99 and up.
I'm wondering if anyone has done the modifications to the mounting brackets for this type of install?
Being totally ignorant of the differences in the body style it seems to me that all it would take are potentially new mounts.
I plan on installing an extra door switch to power a relay, so the electrical is pretty simple.
I have welders and can do basic fab work myself.
Just don't know how involved the will be.

Is it possible to wire them to open with the door? Just use the door switch to activate?

I've heard the door switches the negative side of the lighting circuit.
Besides, I'm going to wire the running boards to a fresh circuit, then drive each side with a relay that will trip if either front or back door is opened.

Always wondered how they would hold up to any kind of offroad use....
A truck at my work has them. I personally can’t stand them. They **** me off. But they have held up just fine. And we aren’t nice to them…
