I've got a couple questions and they all seem to tie in one way or another to the vacuum system so I thought I'd group them all here.

My cruise control and vent selector switch are currently non-op. I traced the supply line from the vacuum pump and came to this fitting.

A & B I believe are vacuum supply to the cruise control.
C is the supply to the brake booster.
D is the supply hose from the vacuum pump.
F was uncapped when I found it so I cut a piece of hose off of E and stuck a bolt in it to cap it off.
E I believe is the vacuum supply to the vent controls.

After I capped the piece off, my cruise and vent control still didn't work though I did test the hose at the cruise and was now getting good vacuum. So, back under the hood. I found the piece below with a hose dangling that looked just long enough to reach the fitting.

What is A?

I hooked it back up and got no change in cruise or vent selector.

Am I correct that:

A is the vacuum supply going into the vent selector.
B is the vacuum supply to the vacuum canister for the vent controls.
C is the vacuum canister for the heater controls.
D is some kind of regulator for the vacuum supply.
E is the vacuum supply coming from the fitting.

As far as the cruise goes...

A is the vacuum canister for the cruise control.
B is the first supply hose coming form the fitting.
C is the vacuum supply from the canister to the cruise controlitself.
D is some vacuum hose going from one part of the cruise control to another. What's it do?
E is the second vacuum supply coming from the fitting.
F I believe is the cable that actually adjusts the throttle to speed you up.

Looking at the injector pump...

A is the end of the cable coming from the cruise control.
B is I have no idea. Anybody know what these hoses are for?
C is a mystery to me. What is this plug for?
D does it look like my pump is leaking? It's wet under there but no puddles. What's it look like to you guys?

Unrelated to the vacuum, but still a curiosity for me..

Where does A bolt down?

Sorry about all the pics but what do you guys think? Anything look out of whack? Am I way off base on what I think any of this stuff is? Any ideas as to hy I have no cruise or vent selector operation? It's stuck on vent and that does me no good when I need to defrost my windshield on these cold MI mornings.

Thanks guys (and gals).

The unconnected vacuum line goes to the low vacuum switch on the fender.. They usually don't work when you loose vacuum... The nut and bolt near the alternater is the support that connects to a missing barcket on your motor. The bracket has 2 bolts that fit into the water pump housing..

regarding the last picture: on my truck "A" (heater hose bracket) bolts to the alternator adjustment bracket, to the passenger side of the alternator bolt. The screw goes thru the alternator bracket in the same manner that the alternator bolt does.

In the SECOND picture, "A" is the low vaccuum switch...it will turn on teh brake light in the cab when vaccuum pressure drops below a certain level...The line should be plumbed into the vaccuum system where "F" is in the FIRST picture

The plug in picture SIX is the Tach sending unit...it should run to a sensor in the timing cover (where the plug is to the right of the connector)

Do they sell a tach that plugs into the connector or is it just for a factory tach only?

You can get a sender and thread it into that hole in the timing cover no problem. If you got a dash cluster with a tach in it, when you install the pickup in the timing cover.

Don't quote me on this, as I am not 100%
