They are definitely high volume pumps.
I once ran a semi with the oil feed line off of the turbo for 6 seconds. Easily a gallon all over the engine... The ground... the wall... Sheesh.

I had a Terex 72-71 loader and the main hydraulic line from the pump blew while loading. I happened to be looking behind me and saw it blow. I hit the kill switch instantly, and it blew 72 gallons in maybe 2 seconds, crazy! Spray hit my pickup about 60 feet away, that was fun.

Watch your cowl moulding! I had to leave my 350 outside for a while because a large job was filling the barn. I'm in Michigan and it rains a lot. I noticed that when I popped the hood there was water on the air cleaner lid. I was looking for the source of a diesel smell. Thought it was the return lines so started replacing them. The leak was on #8. Noticed the line was a little rusty when the rest were fine. Pulled the line and injector. Injector was fine but the flare on the line was rusted bad. Tried to clean it up, made it worse. Ordered a new #8 line. So..... If your cowl rubber is getting bad and it rains where you are and your truck sits like mine does you may want to buy a new cowl rubber. Life figures out new ways to mess with you no matter how old you are.
