I have been driving this thing a lot. I’ve almost put 5000 miles on it in the last 2 months. I guess I’ve always felt nervous about it because I have a hard time trusting my own work. Every day for the last week I’ve been on the freeway for 4 hours a day and it’s not skipping a beat. Work and school and life is all changing and I’m glad I have a solid machine to get me through.

I’m picking up my new to me turbo motor tomorrow. I don’t have a stand to put it on and I don’t really intend on working on it for a while. As far as storing it, I don’t have too much room. I’m trying to figure out if I make almost a wooden box around the oil pan and front balancer, do you think I’d be able to strap it to a furniture dolly? I like how low profile and easy to move they are.

I'm sure it would hold it fine as long as you brace it properly. Build a box the same size as the outside of the oil pan from 2x6 on end or something so the weight is on the flanges where it bolts on I think you should be fine.

That’s what I was thinking, I’d rest the wood on the oil pan flange. Worst case scenario it bends the little edge. I have 3 spare pans as well lol

Don't roll it around too much. Those small casters are still bolted to the lightweight dolly frame. One or more could break. Or the wheels may not even hold up very well.
You’re right. I plan to just stick it in a corner. I’ve had this one dolly I’ll use, I’ve had a lot of weight on it before so I feel like it’ll hold up alright. I used it with my old engine, except it wasn’t as gracefully placed

SIDE NOTE:

my friend bought an 89 f350. 7.3 zf5. It’s in great shape but it sat for a while. It only has 1 tank, so I took the selector valve off to eliminate any unneeded issues. I took the pickup out of the tank and fixed the shower head issue. Put a new fuel pump on it because it wasn’t pumping much of anything. He killed the batteries trying to get it to fire up. (One reason I love my electric pump). I guess I’ll have to go look at it, but he swears that fuel isn’t getting past the filter. I’ll update you guys when I go look at it.

I am not trying to brag, and I feel like usually I’m on here talking about what is bad on my truck. I just did a 3 hour round trip. Half of it had a 7.3 in the bed. I cruised 80 miles an hour the whole time. Egt’s we’re at 700-750. Boost was at 8 psi. Oil pressure 40 psi. And water temp was 190. I absolutely adore the way this thing is running right now. Every time I drive someone else’s idi or powerstroke I get in mine and realize how much power difference it has from stock. I’m very happy with it right now.

Well I was also not towing anything! If I was towing what you were I’m sure I’d be telling a different story haha.

I was bored today so I grabbed our horse trailer, loaded a pallet of steel and a pallet of wood stuff and went and pulled some hills LOL. I loaded it about exactly the same as I did last summer when I towed the same hills. I did them at the same speed but at like half to 3/4 throttle. 3rd gear is really my best friend on hills. Last summer i had it pinned. So I guess a 90cc pump and bigger turbo makes a difference compared to a hypermax turbo and a stock maxed pump.

I went and checked out the tallest bridge in California. 730 feet. It’s in auburn. If any of you guys are in nor cal it’s a nice little drive. You can hike around everywhere. The truck did great other than some random little return line leak that isn’t leaking anymore. Also cost 140$ to fill up at Costco.
