I did the weatherstripping on the drivers side. Embarrassed to say it took me 3 hours. It was absolutely terrible, I have no idea why it was so hard for me. The wing window gave me the most trouble
I was gonna ask what took so long and then you said wing window... I've never done mine but that's cause no way I look at it does it look easy, lol.

Let us know how the noise factor is and how it settles in with that gap.

So what's the deal with the wing window? Do you have to pull the whole thing out to reseal it? Looks relatively simple to get that out I just wasn't sure if it's required. I think mine are original and they're definitely showing their age!
Yeah I took the entire thing out. It wasn’t too bad. I think it’s one of those things that you should dedicate a day or at least an afternoon to LOL

In my opinion it was too hot to be inside the cab messing with weatherstripping. So I decided to do my brakes. I discovered once I cleaned everything that the shoes still had a good amount of meat on them (and Oreilly’s sent me the wrong shoes) so I just cleaned it, put new hardware in, and then I did the wheel bearings and seals. I don’t think that the brake adjusters have ever worked because good lord does this thing stop on an quarter now… not a dime, but it was like a dollar before. Tomorrow I’ll do the differential fluid and then hopefully once it cools off I’ll finish the weatherstripping. I think I said it before but I’m planning to go on a pretty long trip soon so it’s bumped me into gear. Glad I’m doing all this. On the 13th im getting the a/c all charged up with the last of the r12 we have and then I think I’ll get it balanced and aligned.

What's with all the sludge? Should be dry and powdery in there... that greasy junk at some point will lock up the tail end super easy and is quite dangerous. So you may be able to reuse the pads for a while but don't be surprised when they lock up on dry pavement like crazy. Been there twice myself.

Oh I should’ve clarified, those pics are from before I did anything. The seal was in bad shape. It’s all nice and clean in there now.

Very excited, gonna go look at these after work. If the stains aren’t from poop I’ll buy it.

For some reason, even though everything else on my truck is from other trucks, I’ve been really picky on getting used interior stuff just because I don’t know how yucky the previous people are. Probably pretty pointless

So I was told on multiple occasions that if you get a 40/20/40 seat from an extended cab it would bolt into an 86 extended cab no problem. Well that was false. Yes the floors are the same, but the bolt holes are different AND (the biggest thing for me) the damn seat had damn near a 45 degree angle. I’m not sure why. I’m guessing the 95 cab had some raised spots in the rear for the seat to sit on. Anyways, I ended up cutting an inch out of the drivers side seat brackets and that helped tremendously and I can now say it was worth it. The passenger side has a mild angle but I’m not sure if it’s enough for me to take it out and do some more fabrimucation. The lady will be the one who tells me I guess. Anyways. The cup holders are nice, I like having the center seat. It reminds me of when I was little my stepdad had an obs work truck and I’d ride in the middle seat. Love it.

Well today I took my little sister up to Reno, Nevada to visit our grandma. It was about a 300 mile round trip so nothing crazy, but about 75% of it was the Sierra Nevada mountains so I got to really see what it could do. I don’t know if any of you are familiar with highway 80, but I pulled blue canyon in the fast lane doing about 75 (I believe it is a 6 or 7 percent grade and it’s gotta be a couple miles long)and the pyrometer was right under 1100. Then I pulled the Nevada side of Donner pass (I also believe this was about a 7% grade and it’s every bit of 10 miles long) on the way back In at 75-80, and for the last 1/4 I was in 4th at about 65-70. I am so extremely impressed with the way this 6.9 runs. On the way back I had a (turned up looking) 24 valve Cummins behind me on most of the hills and once we got onto flat ground again he was giving me a nice thumbs up haha.

While I was there I poked around a classic car dealership. I almost traded my left kidney and possibly even a lung for the 87’ Mitsubishi. The red squarebody and that Yota had me pretty tempted to see what other body parts I could live without.

Do you know what they were asking for the old squarebody? Prices are all over, just like our trucks. Some people would want 8k for that while some would be asking 18k.

I honestly didn’t look. All I know is the guy said it had 150k on it so I’m assuming it’s up there in price

There was a shop near me that had an 85 F150 for sale. Nice and clean, probably pulled grandpa's boat every Saturday. I about choked when he said he was asking 15k. That was a few years ago too

On my way to work today I was a little late so I had it wound up on the freeway. It will venture past end of the speedometer pretty easily for a 6.9’s standards I guess. With 3.55’s and the zf5 I can literally cruise 85-90 mph at like 2800 or something. Egts are at like 800 at most and coolant never rises. Boost was at about 9-11 psi.

Now I’m wondering, say on a several hour drive, it I were to keep it at about 10 psi of boost, do you think I’d risk anything with the head gaskets just because of the prolonged run time? Just curious
