Goat, that says it's for GM valves? Is this what we use for our old Fords, too? Or do you have a custom setup?
I don`t know how I missed your question.
Iam no expert on this Proportional valve, but doing all my searching on Google, various Forums, Amazon etc.... I came up with that GM did produce this valve for their cars, and also the PV2 valve fits my 86 F250, and some other Ford`s...but do your own research.

This is not a custom set up...but maybe sort of.
I did change the rusty old MC to the later style as used, say 88 - 94 or what ever year Aluminum/plastic Reservoir. read a lot of threads, Forums, YT Vids etc....

Just changing the P-Valve, mine was probably the original 38 yr old one, and was leaking out of a rubber plug on the back end of it.
The 2 front lines to ea wheel screw right in.
Rear line that screws into the back end for rear Brakes screws right in.

Feed line from MC to front brakes screws right in.
Feed line from MC to rear Brakes, is a larger size. Same as front one, and you will need to make or modify the existing old line, with a new flair fitting, or make a new line.

Did a search on Summit racing.
86 F-250 Diesel
CLP-PV2.....$84.99

How ever item# 760186 PV-2 $53.99
Does not fit my yr truck.
Don`t think there is a Nickle`s worth of difference between them. Still a PV-2 valve.

Watched some YT Vids of the old valves taken apart, the old rubber "O" Rings etc.. coming apart and bits of rubber in the Valve.
What lurkith within your valve....?

The ole truck sure stops great now, put my nose on the Windshield...LOL
I put a new Booster on year or so back, the old one was hissing. new one would throw me forward it stopped so good.
After a bit the Brakes were loosing it some.
Actually didn`t know anything about the P-valve, but it was leaking and would get a drip of fluid on the concrete. Then noticed the Frame all wet. Thought I had a leaky Brake Line.

Cooler air is more dense and can help combust fuel better than less dense, hotter, 'underhood' air...and...since the inlet for the tube is out front, at the nose of the truck, it provides a 'ram-air' effect while you are going forward..(at speeds faster than walking speed).

If it were me...I would put it back on and leave it...unless you like the extra sound...it also keeps water and muck from splashing up and into your air cleaner filter...
My Air Tube hasn`t been on for probably the past 6 years. Don`t really see any muck, mud etc... on the Filter when I take it out to clean it.
I have the (I think) Wix Filter that has the Foam wrap, I take it off and wash it out, amazing how much dirt come out of it.
let it dry and replace it. The paper element stays cleaner. Don`t think I have changed the Filter the past....HMMMM... 3 or so years.

I have read on various Forums, that above a certain speed, there is enough cooler air coming in from moving, that really doesn`t make much difference.

One problem w/o the factory Snorkel it can become a Mouse Condo in the Air Filer assy.
Had a truck at work years ago (gas Engine)
sat in the yard unused for a while. One morning it didn`t even try to start. We checked everything, even a shot of Starting Fluit down the snorkel tube off a air assy. Then happen to notice something blue down the tube. The housing was packed with blue Shop Towels.

I see some of these modified turbo set up with intercooler, bigger turbo = more heat, and the big McDonaldson ? Air Filter under the hood living where the Coolant Bottle once lived w/o any shroud to divert cooler air to it.

Has been a good couple of days for the old girl. Got a new junkyard column in, blue top box, reman PS pump and El duble junkyard pully
Off a 6.9 cuz I bent the stock one with my jaw puller trying to get it off.

Fresh PS lines and brake pads and I think we’ll be good to go for a few miles anyways.

I managed to dump ATF everywhere while filling the system so that will smell nice burning off the manifold.

That sounds like a good question for a former east german or otherwise soviet union escapee that hid in the engine compartment of a car or truck to cross the border undetected...

I can confirm that having the hood open as opposed to closed makes a difference in the live data values when I scanned the ECM system while dialing in the adjustments on a GM electronic-assisted quadrajet carb.

On an unrelated, but kinda, note...it was curious to see the calculated load values increase in a van while motoring down the highway and the only change was simply opening the passenger window halfway down...

This is a modified version and not a factory setup...probably the IP is putting out a lot more fuel and the engine needs a lot more air to burn it all...whatever the temp is going in...can be dealt with by adjusting the fuel delivery.

Granted...good point...lesson here is ya gotta check your trucks periodically and not assume that everything is going to be OK after a long period of rest.

Good testimonial...I think that I have the same thing...I looked at it a couple of times...but I don't live in a potentially extremely dusty environment...thank The Lord....but we do have a lot of mud...not sand...but that extremely sticky, gets-all-over-everything red clay...

And...we have had a lot of rain the last month...I am glad that 4x4 works(for now) in The Girl Truck..(AKA 'The Nag')

The housing was packed with blue Shop Towels.
Well...at least the little varmint had a little bit of class...

Suppose it could have been sanitary napkins...

I like my corrugated tube leading up to my air filter assy...sometimes I pop the hood and just run my hands over it to let it know that I appreciate everything it has done for me...if I ever take it off...I will keep it for sentimentality's sake...and give it a place of honor somewhere amongst my collection of retired parts...

I keep the snorkle tube off LuLuBelle in the winter, or use the dryer vent hose and double it around to the exhaust manifold to warm things up quickly. In the summer though, I keep as much cold air in the air cleaner as I can. Living in the desert of West Texas, dust is an issue.

My air intake (after installing a factory turbo setup) is also a piece of 4" metal dryer hose, open on the end. Unfortunately I too have found that it's a packrat highway (boost disappearing, more smoke, and filter restriction tell-tale pegged!). I need to clamp a piece of hardware cloth (like a really heavy-duty screen) over the inlet.

Took it easy on the old girl today, just a few errands.
My Cell Phone is finally at it`s limit for what it can hold, Cant message or take any more pictures. So time to down load all the 4200 pictures. Went to Wally World to put them on a DVD. Guy recommended a Flash Drive, so told him put it on 2 just incase one craps out, and maybe a DVD for a back up.
What really spured me on, was Out Look express wants my Pass Word now to get into my E-mail, And for some reason, it doesn`t. tried 5 times, clicked on forgot pass work they send a text msg, but damn phone won`t recieve it....GRRRR.

Last Friday my Buddy up in baker, Or. called and said he found a Back Hose on CL for his Bob Cat, but north of Reno, 60 - 70 miles up there. OK I`ll take a run up there.

Sat Morning my Wood Guy calls me at 8am, he will be home all day so I can get another Cord.
I call the back Hoe guy from CL, and he is off the same road about 1/2 mile before the wood guy, great. Kill 2 birds with one stone.
Check out the BH, look`s ok, give him a $1K deposit....be back with trailer later.
Load truck and haul butt for home, throw out wood on patio, Hook up trailer and throw in the ratchet Straps etc....and haul butt for Reno.
get there after dark and cold as heck, fun loading with flash lights, get er tied down, pay hin the final $2K, and off we go. Finally get home at 11:30. Man what a long day.
It sure mad the ole 86 huff and grunt getting over the hills and home.

So my Buddy is on his way down to pick up the BH . Probably swap it to his trailer tomorrow. I have a fried down the road that has a Bob Cat, so should be easy to move it.

The hoe is stretched out, so 15ft long, good thing I have a 22ft trailer.

Had kind of a rough day with Duchess. Drove up to Manhattan, and my Holley Red electric lift pump… died! I guess that means that we all needed to be wary of them too! Had my buddy come get me, truck would run poorly, until the fuel pedal was pushed down more than half, then it died. Popped right off with a pull start, but if you put the power to it then it’d die.

Only option was a Holley Blue at O really, $200, double the PSI and I think 30 GPH more flow. Nowhere does it say it works with diesel, but a quick read suggested that it’d probably be fine. Same basic design as the Holley Red pump. Truck runs noticeably different with this pump. Better top end for sure.

Not sure how much I oughta trust it…

Somewhere around September I swapped out the sending unit in Diego. Wanted to take it to my friends pig roast. 4hr drive each way, wanted a working fuel gauge. Some of you may remember I had air issues... Replaced the quick connect on the feed line and good to go!

Got down there and it was leaking fuel somewhere.... Got it home and parked it. Drove Tank for a while until I got my Jeep.

Last week I put a new quick connect on the return line. All excited to test it out and starter just clicked..... Charged up the batteries and got about 2.5 turns out of the engine.

Batteries are labelled 10/19. Can't complain about that. $60 Walmart batteries.... If I'm getting 4-5 years I'm ok with that (as ok as one can be when having to dish out $$). Another 130 at Walmart and got Diego inspected today.

Fuel gauge won't work. Stuck on E.....*sigh*

This is mine, nothing spectacular. But hey, @tbowker if the filter head you have is the same as mine it only has a 1/4in hole through the brass that the filter screws on. Someone pointed that out in a thread one time and @Nero responded that it was for something or other and to drill it out bigger, so the last time I changed the filter I drilled it out to a size bigger than 3/8 for better flow........ just sayin'.
You must be registered for see images attach

Hey @Jesus Freak , so I got another filter to replace my existing one and also figured to verify if my filter head has the 1/4" hole like you said yours had before you drilled it larger. To be honest, I can't see a point in drilling any larger since the hole in the rubber at the center of the filter is only about 1/8" diameter. Unless I'm missing something. :dunno
