Preliminary report is very good!! Took a run up the road this morning and where I had a little bit of something like 45-55 empty I got nothing. Smooth as can be. I’m cautiously optimistic. Going to try to hitch up and tsk the trailer for a run. Hoping I can put this to rest for good.

Interesting...so from what you're saying, 17 PSI is enough to fully digest a bull moose? I like the sound of that, because I probably couldn't get much more than 20 PSI without risking my head gaskets.
anything over 14 and you may be rolling the dice IMO. Don't forget the stock compression ratio, anything over 10 is a lot of boost in my book.

For a stock engine, absolutely. I usually advise 7-10 PSI for a stock 6.9 and 7-12 for a stock 7.3.

My engine is slightly de-compressed and has ARP head studs, which is why I mentioned 20 PSI max.

I got the truck out and stretched her legs a bit. Drove over to help my buddy with a fuel tank. On the way back I zipped across traffic and holy wheel hop Batman. I don’t think if ever really been on it hard enough to break the tires loose but I thought I was going to break it in two before I got it settled down. If that turns out to be a recurring issue, I can see a set of bars in my future. Otherwise, the truck ran great. It is throughly bored running up the freeway empty.

My wheel hop is aweful especially in sand. I’m almost thinking of swapping a Dana 80 in because there’s more power coming in the future, I’ll be interested to see how you solve this

Noticed the last couple cool days, she’s not lighting off on all 8. I’m guessing my GP harness has probably slipped off a plug or 2. The only issue I’ve had with the 6.0 harness is I’ve had the bend the connectors a bit and it’s stretched tight in a couple places so it probably pulled off a plug or 2. Hope that’s all it is. It starts it just isn’t happy about it for a few strokes.

Interested to see what you find out here. I was just wondering how the 6.0 harness was working. My 93 lights off on a couple cylinders less than 8.

I should have taken more time to massage it then I did. If I was a betting man, I probably pulled #1 off last time I messed with the timing. The good/interesting thing is that my controller doesn’t seem to care. I guess there is enough load in the wires from relocating things, the controller isn’t seeing a missing plug. A glow plug defeat is on my short list.

Ordered my glow plug kill switch last night from Ottrw (the rocker switch guys). Talked to Jim there. Really nice guy. The glow plug pattern was not up on the web site but they had it in the library so if you are looking for something they don’t have, shoot them an email. I’ll do a write up on my version of a manual glow plug system when I’m done and happy with it. The next things that have to be done is replacing the headlight connectors on my headlight harness. I broke the little clips pulling them off way back and now they won’t stay on. I’ve been without headlights twice now. This time of year that’s a real problem.
