Ether Injection kit

I'm wanting to ditch the Glowplug system all together, and plug the GP holes and just use ether injection.

My main reasoning for it is I know I carbon up my motor running my WMO cocktails, and I sure as heck don't want to have another issue like I did before (reason I had to have the heads pulled, bunch of $$$ etc...)

Anywho, I don't want to have the ether inject Pre Air Filter and Turbo(s). I want to feed the ether more directly into the engine as close to the manifold as I can. Problem is I haven't found a system yet that uses a high pressure injector to mist out the ether. Seems to me anything over about 50 psi (to be on the safe side) pop off would do the trick.

Can anyone lead me in the direction for a kit like I'm looking for?

These systems are sometimes found on older rubber tired moblie cranes. The generating company I worked for had an old petebone crane that had this setup. It never worked. Nobody would tell the auto shop to replace the canister. I would see guys holding the lever for 60 to 90 seconds trying to get the old diesel to fire off:eek: If it ever did with all that ether in it the head would have gone somewhere thats for sure.. I think those guys moved up to canada and started toms farm viedos on utube....:D:angel:

I am can not find the one I wanted to show you, I will look more tonight. Look for one that is 3cc or less, mine is 6, and is way too much.

I put the kit on a truck that would only start on glowplugs when it was really warm out, and with the ether it starts easily at -15. The stuff in the ether cylinders is way more badass than the aerosol cans.

My GM bus I converted to a MH had the ether injection system. You had to start starting the engine, then push the button to give it a spirtz of ether into the air intake, started ever time. That was a safety feature, no ether until the engine was turning over.

I think the best way to cure carbon buildup is to throw a trailer on and find a nice long grade. Get that pyro in the 1000+ degree range for a couple minutes. The longer the better. Heck your running WMO you shouldnt be worried about fuel costs LOL

yea not worried about fuel costs at all. (well a little, since I mix, but certainly not losing sleep over it) Someday when I retire and I can't remember what day of the week it is I hope to be able to just hitch up to something and go flog the ole IDI a little. Until then, no bueno. I'm sure the Water **** will help keep things clean. But I like to err on the side of caution

I highly recommend this one, used many.

Thx Russ! ;Sweet

I don't know about pressure or any other details, but every diesel John Deere combine I have seen has some sort of either injection system with a push button in the cab.

So what are you going to use to fill the spots where the GPs go? Also taking out the GPs would lower compression too I would think. I look forward to how well the ether system works on your truck. Keep us updated...

duct tape. :rotflmao

Nah I figured I'd take a plug into a shop here in town that has the equipment to make me up some custom studs to seal em up.

I suppose it would drop compression a little. How much who knows.

You would have to use a stud so they wouldn't come out with the constant pressure huh?

Don't know, allgreek to me at this juncture. Anyone with some experience here, advice much appreciated

I was thinking that you could just use a regular stud and would have to torque it down to the same specs as GPs or maybe a lil more and it should hold. It shouldn't be too hard to keep um in cus the glow plugs are under the same amount of stress as they would be. You would just need the right length.
