Throw out bearing noise?

I recently changed out the clutch and throwout bearing in my '89 F-250. Now I have a "clacking" noise coming from the area of the passenger side rear of the engine. It usually happens after the engines warms up and I can feel a smal"pulse" coming through the transmission shifter . I bought the clutch kit at Oreillys due to a severe lack of US Currency and it came with a clutch throw out bearing. CHEAP!!!
Im thinking: T/O bearing or a loose rocker arm or maybe a lifter not pumping up ! Any ideas from the brain trust????

Clacking makes me think it's the inspection cover. Pull it off and see if noise goes away.

T.O. Bearing noise usually happens when you press the pedal, goes away when your off it. Front bearing noise (in neutral) quiet when you push the pedal and noisy when you let off. Pilot when you start lifting clutch and load transmission.

Not to be argumentative, but I've had a different experience with several "cheap" TOBs over the last few years.
They "chirp" with the pedal out at idle and when driving...stop "chirping" with the pedal depressed.

Regarding the "pulse" that's felt through the shift lever ... that's a new one for me.

I have had two that chirped, that was my experience.
Took a while to figure out what it was.
This 86 F-250 is the only vehicle I have ever had a problem with the
Throw out Bearings.

That may be. Quality has gone down hill since I was doing a lot of these. Chirping can also be the fork. Check fork and pivot ball too.

I thought perhaps the clutch fork might be loose. NOPE. I dont know if the TOB may have slipped on the clutch fork. Either way the "thumping noise" appears to be more
prevalent on the passenger side. The engine sounds good and performs marvelously . The adventures of LuLuBelle continues, stay tuned as the next episodes arrive. Thank you guys for the help!!

That was my first thought, too! Mine had to be bent out of the way it was so bad, scared the fire outta me as I thought I had major engine damage.

I also agree the TOB can chirp at idle but if it's really bad grind under pedal load. So I'm in the "both" camp.

Josh the boton inspection cover was removed and it still makes that "thumping/clacking " noise. Ill keep yall updated.

Ok guys, heres what I found: The fluid level in my clutch cylinder reservoir was very low. I filled it back up and the noise subsided* somewhat* , but Im not at all sure that was the issue. It may be that the clutch fork was loose on the TBO, and there may still be a bubble of air in the line. Could it be the clutch fork is worn?? Probably. Heres more info from the continuing saga of LuLuBelles foibles: The "ticking/knocking " noise is not that apparent when the engine is cool, upon start up. My redneck stethoscope
( a piece of hollow conduit) reveals the culprit may be an injector. The thing runs good and pull good despite the ticking/knocking noise. Im gonna run some Diesel Service and a quart of pure vegetable oil to see if anything chanes. Wish my hearing was better though.

On the chirping noise, that is the throwout bearing slipping on the clutch fingers. Once you drive for a little bit and it throws excess grease out of the bearing, it should go away. If it doesn't, the throw out bearing is not pressing hard enough on the clutch fingers. Do not try and adjust these hydraulic clutches like you would a mechanical clutch. The throw out bearing rides constantly on the fingers on a hydraulic clutch, and if there is not enough pressure, the bearing will tend to scoot on the fingers and make a squeaking noise.

You will notice if you have this problem, if you very lightly put your foot on the clutch, the squeaking will go away. The clutch needs to be adjusted tighter. Some can be easily adjusted, some not. They used to make clutch masters that had adjustable rods, not sure they make them anymore. I made mine adjustable for this reason, and to make the pedal engagement a little higher in the pedal travel.

The two Bearings I had problems with, when removed, the
thing was all loose and wobbly. Spun like no grease in it.
Maybe they do not put much of any in them from the factory?
