Injection Pump Timing Tool

Any body seen this tool? First I have seen it, I guess if you remove IP and Cover/Gear, it get you lined up? IDK.

I may be missing something, but I don't see the point. It's pretty easy to line up the IP groove with the dowel in the gear.

Hmm... I thought it was for aligning the gear like when you are putting the gear cover back on...

Yes, i think that is what it is for. It is upside down though. Pointer should be in the 130 to 2 o clock position. Pointing at the dowel when engine is at tdc

So #1 TDC should be about 1:30-2 PM?
Thing do look kinda interesting.

Well on EDIT:
"If pump is still on engine the pump timing gear dowel pin will be at 4:00 position."

I honestly dont remember for sure. I vaguely remember it being the 1 to 2 o clock position....
