Stopped by the tire shop and set up an appointment to get the steer tires balanced.

Got home and decided it was past time to grease the neglected universal joints. Fought with two guns for a minute until I realized they were BOTH empty. Refilled it and then decided I'd better do the steering while I was at it.

I've got a wobble I've noticed, everything feels tight so ?? Hoping the balance helps.

Popped the hood and checked the belts, AC belt was impressively loose. Fought with it for a few until I found the FOURTH bolt on the back.

Checked the air filter. Not terrible really but probably oughta order one of those too....

Fuel filter light was coming on, so I went in to change the thing. I was reminded that the last time I did this I swore I was going to move the filter down to the frame rail. I just looked again at R&D but those parts have been out of stock for a long time. I am thinking about fabricating a bracket to mount the factor assembly down low.

I will be revising my bracketry to make it look less cluttered but I have almost the same setup as you.

Mine is nothing more than some 6.9 heads I had sitting around at the time, some angle iron and spacers on threaded rod were all that was need to mount them.

I like yours quite a lot simply because you were able to use spare parts.

Finally ordered them the other day when the driver's window wouldn't budge. Enough is enough!

I just used a "rebuild" kit on the passenger side of the '93 last week.
Other than the fact that my hands looked like they'd been hung up in a bailer ... it wasn't too bad.
The worst part is poking 1/2" holes in your truck!
Thanks Ford.

Yeah I considered just replacing the motor in mine but the cost was about the same. The motors in mine are weak and at least the driver's side has a dead spot.

This way I can take the passenger side out, r&r it and stick it in Diego to fix that one. Get two birds stoned at one time so to speak.

I hear ya'.
You may benefit from a pair of Kevlar gloves ... or fresh tetanus shot.
It's like they intentionally sharpened some of those edges in there!

I rubbed the back of my hand against whatever spray-on coating they put in there on the inside of the door skin, and had a nasty infected rash for weeks from that.

They used really big rivits to hold these in place. You can just drill them out. I could not find ones as big as Ford used the day I did the job. So used the biggest ones I could find. (O'Rielly's or Ace Hardware.) They were a little smaller, so I put a washer on the back of the rivet before I pulled them. Worked good!

You could also replace with stainless bolts if you don't want to goof around with rivets. (Hardware store.)

Also be sure to clean the track below the window of the old grease. Then grease it up real nice so the regulator and window track slide like butter. I used white lithium grease but boat wheel bearing grease would likely work too. (Can handle water.)

Nice to have working windows!

That was the plan, thank you for reminding me to actually buy the hardware LOL

Yeah I have some silicone grease with PTFE that was recommended by another member here who used to maintain a fleet of these. I actually bought a tub of it for this project and have been using it on other stuff so I'd better do this while I still have some LOL

Come to think of it... I haven't seen @Garbage_Mechan comment in a while I hope he's ok.
