Just dropped as much wood as the bed cover would allow me to fit back there. Some maple and oak. Man does she ride nice with weight back there.

Loaded up a stripped conversion van and hauled it to the scrapyard. I'm pleasantly surprised with how well this truck handled the weight. Definitely knew it was back there, especially when stopping, but other than the brakes zero complaints with this F250.

The only time I drove one around without a hood, I found the radiator fan to be distracting. I just wanted to keep watching it turn.

I didn’t realize there’s like a small gap between 2 blades of the fan compared to the others, I think I stared at it for a little while. It was like I was getting hypnotized

Today I started it, then shut it off again. I decided to test load voltage while idling with the heater and lights on after dark last night, but I've always been deeply affected by idling diesels, without even staring at the fan blades. Woke up at 2am. Funny thing is the charge system managed to keep the batteries in the pink, but it's not exactly cold right now. Derned near summer lately, but I'm off to source a better alternator regardless.

Today I made my mirror extensions for hauling my slide in camper with my Blue Truck. My first idea didn't work out as well as I had hoped that it would. Both mirrors completely folded in to the doors within 1 1/2 miles on the highway. I made my adapters by welding two different sized bolts together head to head. Of course some idiot (I won't mention my name here) used 3/8" and 1/4" bolts at first. I had to make two more with 5/16" bolts to go into the mirrors. I don't know if I couldn't get them tight enough in the bottom of the extensions or if the 1/4" bolts just wouldn't hold tight enough, but I had to rethink a little bit. The mounts for the side mirrors are aftermarket and have two different mounting holes. I keep the Grotes in the outer holes, so I drilled out the inner holes like Cubey did with his. Then I used the 3/8" bolts that came with the extensions and they held tight all the way home. The cheap aftermarket mirrors on the extensions are pretty floppy and always have been. I can live with that. Other than still needing some fine tuning for adjustment (and looking slightly like Dumbo), overall I'm happy with this. The outsides of the Grotes measure 11" out from the top, rear mounting bolt on the door mounts. These measure 18" out from the same bolt. Even though the pictures don't really show it, I gained 7" per side so I'll now be able to see all of the mirrors while hauling the camper.

Hauled a little over a ton to the scrapyard today, mostly short with a little aluminum and a couple converters. Kinda wished I took the Dually because it's more stable and this had a little sway, but Diego hauled it without complaint!

Went out first thing today and fired that sucker up. Then, after it warmed up, I shut her down. Job done I went inside and washed my hands, just in case i picked up a virus or something... I'm considering throwing some soap on it one of these days but such things require careful planning.

A week ago, I bought a harbor freight work platform thing for $20, to replace the old igloo cooler I stood on while doing hundreds of hours of labor on my truck over the last 2 years. Today, I left the platform in front of the truck, forgot about it, and ran it over. The F250 won.

Ha! I did that a couple years ago myself, have another of the same because they are darn handy. It was barely a crunch to my pickup.
