Just for clarification, is this correct?

That looks like the exact one that I used on mine. I used the pulley that came on it and haven't had any belt squealing issues. I was hesitant about doing the swap too, but it was really easy once I got in there and did it. It may be time to do this to my '81 F150 next. I didn't use a fuse either. I just reused the factory power wire (fusible link). That made it that much easier for me too.

That’s one option but honestly you are handicapping the alternator by not running a heavier charge wire. It just won’t push to its full potential. It should function but you are not getting the full benefit of the 130 A alternator.

I watched a little youtube video and it does appear to be an easy job. I'm thankful you guys gave me a little kick in the pants encouragement vs simply replacing with original equipment. The only thing that does suck is my truck will not fit into the garage with camper loaded, so this is going to be a driveway repair.....

Mine was too, but it was 100+ at the time. Just for the record, I HATE electrical work. I can remove something old and replace it with the same type of new part, but when it comes to changing things around, that's not my cup of tea!

Can’t be skeered all your life. LOL

A wise man once told me that there’s nothing but fear and common sense stopping you. I have found those to be words to live by.
I like this. Honestly I have been afraid of doing this conversion on my truck. I'll rewire a house, panel, swap outlets and fixtures with the circuit live, can troubleshoot 3 ways but give me 12V DC and I become an idiot.

You see the parts list. Bring her down for an hour or so one day and I’ll lend a hand. Same to you @catbird7 but you are a bit further away.

I'm just the opposite, DC projects since childhood. live off-grid in a 12 volt powered house... Alternating current confuses me - it alternates?o_O

I was scarred at a young age..... Had a 1968 IH Scout and during the installation of a tape player and amp, not sure what I did however it burnt every wire under the dash and hood + blew out nearly every light bulb! The smell of burnt wiring insulation is still etched into my brain 40 years later.

I actually like the challenge of automotive electrical.

House wiring? No problem! But I won't work on it live! (Of course I always disconnect the battery, before working on the truck electrical, too.)

No problem being an electricalician. Just don't ask me to be a mathmagician!

Alternator, pigtail, fuse, & fuse holder arrived. I'll stop this evening and buy M8-1.5 X30 grade 5 bolt, + two pre-made red wires. Check photo, is this correct? Pigtail plugs into alt, white wire with black tracer also plugs into alt, yellow wire attaches to lug, and green wire splices onto green wire currently in voltage reg? Then a red wire (which I need to purchase) attaches to lug on alt and goes to one side of fuse. Another red wire (which I need to purchase) attaches to the other side of the fuse and goes to + side of solenoid on fender.
