What intercooler is the best cost effective option that still allows you to keep the condenser in place. I've read of people using superduty 7.3, 6.0, mishimoto(not sure size), ebay specials (not sure size). Truck is a 93 will be running bigger pump, upgraded turbo (093 based) and stage 1 injectors.

Sur is Purdy!

You Texas boys don't know how lucky you are to have such fine rust free trucks to work with! Up north here, in most cases you gotta be bull-headed and financially illogical to keep a 30 year old truck on the road. I know this is true, because my wife told me so! LOL

I installed a 6.0 intercooler and transmission fluid cooler in my 94 IDIT. Minor modifications. Works great.

I've got a '94 4x4 idit that will be getting intercooled soon. Right now, I've got a gigantic 6.0 transmission cooler installed, but I don't think that there's any way that I'll be able to keep it in the stack when I add the intercooler...
What type and size of cooler are you running? Where do you have it mounted?

it has made me question my sanity a couple of times.....

i have a 7.3 IC in mine. if i had to do it over again i would go with a set up like Wes posted. easier to mount and the newer ones are supposed to be more efficient. you dont have to worry about the odd ball Ford 3.25" boot adapter you need to get also.

I have all 4 installed. Radiator, condenser, 6.0 trans cooler and intercooler. The trans cooler and condenser are real close. I put rubber insulator in between them.
I live near Dallas Tx and water is very consistent at 195 with ac on. I have not towed 13k lbs RV yet.

I guess I'm not paying attention o_O
You did mention that earlier in this thread... Do you have any pictures of the installation? What did you have to cut to make it fit? I'm assuming that you fabricated mounts for both, I'd love to see them:cheers:

Thanks for the replies. If everything works out. I'll be picking up a good used 7.3 intercooler this weekend. Pics of how you have one mounted would be great. Or a link. Thanks.

This is a common thing for the 94-97 Powerstroke trucks. The truck side (cooling package fit up) is the same just the piping is different. Some of the piping will even stay the same. If I had a Tig I would buy a CSX racing 7.3 PSD kit and modify the tubes The 7.3 PSD ATS intercooler is a nice starting place too Kit would Take a search on powerstroke army or powerstroke nation and you will find many installs to review.
