Finally getting around to getting the zf5 in my truck. I was going to bench bleed the slave/master cylinder, but I bought the wrong line :idiot:
I got the line from bronco graveyard but it appears to be for a gasser.

I think Dorman 628-200 will work? I can pick one up from Napa tomorrow - it cross references to Ford F5TZ-7A512-A, which should be the part number for the original line I think.

If the dorman part isn’t right, what’s the correct part number?

87 F250 6.9 idi
Zf5 s5-42
The slave cylinder I have is Ford e3tz-7a564-a (bought it right before ford parts giant quit selling it)
The master cylinder I have is Luk LMC170

The part number for the original clutch line should start with a "E" unless it's been supersceded. The "F5" is a part number for a 1995 model year.

Is the gasser actually different? When I did the 460 to idi swap I used the same master, slave, and line....

Yep. The slave side of the line uses a much larger fitting without a roll pin

Maybe this would work? Both sides have the roll pin type connector, and its just a stainless braided line so it can go wherever I want it to

I wonder if that is for the Mazda transmission for small block gassers, not the zf, cause the hydraulics are same for same between all of my trucks.

is the 460 an external slave? The other gassers are internal slave, which is why its different

ZF slave has a pin. The one you pictured is for one with an internal slave cylinder like a ranger. There are no external slaves that use that larger push ring connector. BTW those (internal slave connectors) are fun the first time.

I think I’m leaning towards getting that line from bc broncos. It looks like it should work.
Unless someone has a part number that for sure will work?

I used Russ Repair`s Clutch Line kit on my 86 T-19,
worked great. Probably work for the ZF-5 also.

I ordered the same piece from deering designs. There’s no option to add the line to your cart on russ’s website anymore.

That dorman line had the correct fittings, but didn’t fit the truck, which is strange because its for a 92+ truck. It had too many bends in it to fit and was much longer than it needed to be.

The line from deering should be here monday, so I should be able to get the truck started next week finally
