my 88 bronco with fresh 6.9 and rebuilt C6 , could only pull 20-22 mpg with 50psi 31" michelins and 3.00 gears . had lots of power but could have used an overdrive.
Thanks for the replies! I have a rust free Dana 60kp, idi-zf5, hydroboost 1990 sclb in my driveway. It has a sideswiped cab and cracked up core support and fenders. Yall got me thinking about shortening it and topping it with a 92-96 bronco body.
I'd be slightly concerned about the Bronco frame strength with the heavy diesel. My buddy's '96 F150 frame broke at the steering box... L6 and stock size tires. Not sure if that's a common thing...
