318 from those years is pretty easy to find/fix/replace/etc. That's a nice score.
360s are just as easy ;Poke
1995. Overheated, probably zero compression at 140k. But it is so clean and 100% original it looks like a time capsule. Couldn't pass up for $400. And it came with a FULL TANK. I'll tear into this 5.2 probably after my dad's truck is done.
Sounds kinda like my new to me daily in the driveway, 2001 Mercury Sable with 144k and zero rust, has a 3.0 pushrod, bad HG on cyl 6, replaced all the gaskets and WP, now it has oil in the coolant and a misfire on 5&6 when hot, reman head should be here Wed, car cost me $600

Im obviously not a Chrysler/Mopar guy......but ill always say the small block V8s 305/350, 302/351, ......and yes even the 318/360 from the early 90s with that generation of fuel injection.....are the best engines ever made.....hands down. They were so good that the "Big 3" threw them in the garbage and gave us aluminum heads and a coil per cylinder..........STOOOO-PID......lol

Didn’t think to get pictures but I picked up an injection pump from @Jesus Freak the other day and dropped it into my (wife’s) dually. Turns out that it did just need good fuel and a good tuned pump to run right with that turbo.

Hopefully here soon I’ll have TWO running IDIs that are registered.

So what guitar did you trade him for one of his fabled pumps?

What kit or upgrades did you go with? The e4od I'm doing I want to think I won't use it for towing, but I'm a liar to myself

I know I'm going with billet shaft and planetary, but there's some hard core smaller kits within kits that I don't think I'll need

I like the one ats kit that's out there, and was going to mix and match with that "tugger" kit if I can find one. My pump was my biggest headache so upgrading that.

I need to do more research on what upgrades to do with the valve body to make it more highway friendly
I had it done by a transmission shop, so I have no idea what they actually replaced or didnt. I did request the tugger kit and better torque converter, but not doing it my self or standing over thier shoulder while they rebuilt it, I have no idea if I got what I paid for.
