Update post to my little shifter project, turned out great
Too bad the boot is a little stretched because a wire was ran though it on the old trans set up
And the knob is a bit chewed up
Just need to find a better one or if anyone has leads on knew that would be awesome
That's really classy looking! Very fitting for our bullnose trucks! @FrozenMerc , you better have a look at this!!!

I drove to Oregon City and borrowed a trailer. Filed her up, $97 for a tank and a half...
Been knocking out my fireplace since its cracked all the way through, did two dump runs. Definitely getting my moneys worth out of those ponies I added :peelout

For me the other options aren't options. I cannot find any good rebuilt sources for engines or transmissions for myself or customers.

[I am also looking for a 3v 5.4 for a Ford, and an auto transmission for an 06 corolla, and heads for a 4.0 discovery. ]

I don't want a used one. For me this transmission has a lot of parts, upgrades and literature available so it's the only automatic I've felt comfortable rebuilding.

Almost every vehicle that comes through my shop is obsolete haha. Finding parts sometimes uses more labor hours than the replacement. At least I can do that in air conditioning with no pants heehee

Thanks for the heads up on the snap ring! I do tend to let them go flying and finding random clips is a nightmare. I seem to lose the ones on older bmw coolant hoses and gm transmission lines the most.

Today my dad took measurements to make me a "frame" to hold it up. Many years ago he made me a whole table with the frame as part of it, but sold that with the shop :(

My dad came by thinking he would take the transmission with him to build around it. He didn't believe me how big it was I did give him the core for the Corolla I'm going to try to rebuild.
I think I'm going to wind up scrapping mine. Have all new steels and frictions, all new bearings, stage 1 shift kit, and new stock converter.
I already had it rebuilt when I got a screaming deal in the zf.
I wanted the OD any way I could get it.

Body fully removed from the '94 IDI Turbo.

Time for a full frame clean up, remove all rust, replace whatever needs replacing. Donor body, bed, front clip from an '89 F250 will be fit into her once she's sparkly clean and painted. Was a busy day.

Just remember that there's "starters" and "finishers"........ that's a great "start"......ask @Danielle about "finishing".......

My mechanical fuel pump gave up the ghost day before yesterday. I pulled the pump off Sunday afternoon so my wife could swap it out at O'Reilly's yesterday and I could put the new one on today. Got a year and 2 months outta that one, pretty good for pumping the sludge I ask it to pump. Anyway, I put the new one on and as I was cranking the engine it was leaking fuel like the Dickens on the threaded side. I tried tightening it a bit, but that didn't do anything and I knew it was tight enough anyway. So I pulled it off and looked at the flare, that was fine.....but check this out, the threads in the pump only go halfway in! I need about 2 more threads to get it tightened like it's supposed to be. O'Reilly will have me another tomorrow morning.
