Well I said that I wasn't going to do it, but the more I thought about it, the more it bothered me for some stupid reason. I went back and picked up my valve cover that went AWOL on Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly, it was just where I'd left it, or, more accurately, where it left itself. There's barely even any damage on it. Strange considering that it flew off of the north side of the engine and landed in the ditch on the south side of the highway. It was about a 2 hour and 20 minute round trip. FOR A VALVE COVER! Stupid? Probably but it wouldn't be the first time that I've been accused of not being the sharpest candle on the cake.cookoo
Alright, now you HAVE to use that valve cover.

I got the Ol' Boy out under his own power for the first time in almost a year and a half and since I really had not planned to do that today I figured out some things pretty quick. My front tires rub the bumper if I turn to far. The power steering pump is shot and since it has been raining, I figured out that a front drive shaft was imperative. Unfortunately mine was laying on the shop floor so I got to install it in the mud. Luckily I hadn't gotten far. Got it all in and rolled it right out of the mud. Everything drivetrain wise seems good

I drove the 91 to town. Went to Napa, picked up a master cylinder and a case of shop towels. Now with that master cylinder I should be able to complete the hydroboost swap on my 94 F350. I needed one that had the pressure switch for cruise control.

Oh and I sent an 093 turbo and downpipe core to Justin at R&D, gonna get the Stage 1 drop in and upgraded 3” V band downpipe. Yesterday I ordered another set of return rails, and his beefed up flexplate, which is supposed to be twice as thick as the stock one.

And I also sent an 093 Y pipe to IDIoit, to get his bellowed V band up pipe.

Should have a pretty solid upgraded 093 kit to go on my 94. Not in a hurry though, still have to finish this transmission… torque converter is a ways out from being shipped yet…

Why do I do this…

Still haven’t decided which route to take with the intercooler, I might go Hypermax again, I have no complaints with the intercooler kit on my 91 that I got from them. Will work with the factory airbox, and they make a transmission dipstick that fits with their kit. And that cowl induction kit…

Willing to take suggestions on other intercooler kits… afaik R&D doesn’t make one for the 093, CDD does, or I could piece one together myself. ATS themselves used to back in the day, too bad they don’t anymore, otherwise I’d probably go with that.

I also sold a spare engine. I’ve got enough spares at this point that it needs to start going back that way…

I’ve got a PS intercooler and tubing put together for under $300. It’s going in my 1990 with a banks so it’s not exactly the same AND i do still need to buy an intake hat so that’s gonna be a little more. But I’ll be less then 1/2 of a purchased kit.

How did you go about making the intercooler piping? Would exhaust tubing work?
