For anyone doing a fresh turbo swap on their truck.... Just do this out of the gate. Holy ******* crap some of these bolts were tight, and regular corrosion they didn't want to just u thread normally by hand.

Back at it again, this time in the rain. Working on fitment issues. Ground down this little booger, the flex was rubbing on it. Should go together like butter now.

What's odd is the spare manifold I have on the floor, the nub is way bigger.

Cast iron products are very rarely consistent.

Got the pipe in and turbo bolted down. Dang that's a tight fit. But no rubbing.

I guess it's a bad time to mention the obvious...metal expands when hot... ;Poke
But really I hope it works out great and never gives any issues. What did @IDIoit say?

Haven't shown him yet, figured he'll see this here. I did send him a dm with what I had done.

I shoved a piece of 1/8th stock steel between the bellows and the intake to shift the flange over as far as it would go, with the turbo bolted to the drain to fix it in place. Once the band clamp and up pipe were tightened, I pulled the stock out and that's where it stopped.




I hope it doesn't rub... Down pipe clamp is such a pain to put on....
