This is why I wanted a slide in camper for years. Not my yard, this is just where I picked the camper up.

Got a new toy for it today!

It's going in Diego for right now, and hopefully I like the way it works enough to put another bracket and harness in Tank and pull out the leaky hydraulic controller.

Those hydraulic ones are weird. I had one in my truck when I first got it

Man those new controllers look sharp.

I agree. I know that they were used for years, but I'm not sold on them.

I like mine. It’s really smooth especially in traffic. Set it tighter than you would a time delay controller. It’s so smooth you’ll almost think it’s not doing anything. I probably run my trailer brakes tighter than I should though.

Yes ditch the hydraulic controller. They weren’t great when they were new.

I actually put the hydraulic one in. Never had an electronic one that actually worked. I really like the hydraulic one, but it's leaking and I believe it's probably why the brakes in the dually are questionable.

I like the hydraulic one because it works with the brakes, all the time. That's the only reason I'm on the fence about this one, but it's supposed to be one of if not THE best so I'm being optimistic. I'm too old fashioned for my own good LOL

Today me and my lady took a little trip down to @IDIoit ‘s house to get my pile timed. Convenient to only be an hour away.

How do you like those side mirrors? I'm thinking about going with that style so that I can see around my slide in camper a little bit better. Right now, I can see past it with only about half of the mirrors. I think that these will stick out a little bit farther.

I really like them a lot. I accidentally drilled the holes too far forwards though so I have to leave them folded out or else I’ll be looking through the wing window.... but I think they look nice and they rock with trailers. The little blind spot ones are great too

    Man, what a sweet truck!
I just got my '89 F35 7.3 IDI inspected and tagged yesterday! It's an old Search and Rescue vehicle. I'm not sure what transmission it has. It is an automatic with an OD.
I'm new to these trucks, but I've been on the Earth for a long time. LOL! This forum has taught this old dog a bunch of new tricks.
I digress, today I'm tracking down an open neutral on the coach wiring so I can have safe shore power.
I need to drop the rear fuel tank and replace the pickup 'shower head'. It's going to be a pain in the butt b/c I can't just take the ambulance coach off like I could if it was a pick up bed.

    One day at a time.

It wasn't my IDI but I need to vent somewhere....

First off, my Father in law's truck (97 F350 ex U-Haul) is a big enough piece of junk as is and these half*censored* shops are just making it worse....

I went to change the rear shoes today. No problem right? First, the lug nuts on the driver's side were all loose, so naturally the rim is all egged out and the studs are all notched..... Great. He can't afford to fix it so change the brakes and put it back together.

Look up at the new spring hangers...... ........ What the.... Idiot that changed them notched the frame so he didn't have to drop the tank.... Oh yeah, and only 3 of the 4 bolts are there....

Front brakes are leaking too. We'll have to replace the lines.... Eventually.... When he has the money.

This thing is going to get him killed and these hacks are just making it worse.

I can mail you some free line if you need it for him. If you don't have time to flare send me the measurements and I can flare and mail them?

This is why I avoid having anybody else work on my stuff if I can help it at all. Plus it's just one more check mark for owning an older truck like I do. I can still work on it without a degree in electrical engineering.

Thank you so much for the offer Danielle! I have enough hard line, but we need both rubber hoses. Assuming the bleeders will come loose and we don't need calipers also.......

I honestly didn't want to touch the shackles on his truck or I would have done them. The frame is pretty shot from rust, and I knew if I was to drop the tank we would at least have to replace all the lines, if not the tank too. That's how the shop justified notching the frame because "the tank will leak if we drop it and it's $800 if it's even available" I told him that price was BS and the shop just didn't want to mess with it.

Frankly I did tell him honestly that I don't have the equipment to do it anyway. I don't have a jack or stands that will support that truck with all of his crap in it. And I really wasn't looking forward to drilling out all of those rivets with no torch.

All the other shops had quoted him $1000. I asked him who did it, he told me and said they only charged me $500... I told him it shows too.
