Luv guys like this ^^^^ they can dish out all soft of unhelpful (and insulting) bs, like the 9 (out of 10 ) posts he made in my "body lift" thread. But as soon as someone points out his distastefully ignorant and over opinionated ways, all of a sudden hes "Mr. Humble" and the other person is the problem cookoo hes just still but hurt by me calling him and wastro out for being ignorant. LOL his posts and name calling speaks to his general nature as a person.

Karma- exactly what i thought of when i remembered wastros insults to me as well as my body lift idea (for creating clearance around the turbo for accessibility) :rotflmao

If IDIot had it his way he'd burn me at the stake! ha hes probably over in the "refinery" handing out pitchforks trying to gather people on horseback LOL

----------------------------------------------

79jasper check the pic out, everything is loose its a clearance issue. Thread are fine, look at the pic they are not rotty or damaged in the picture. Good advice was given to lift cab for clearance. advice not taken. good advice was given to pull the studs. advise not taken. ....running out of advise why do you think there are over 1500 views of this thread and no more advice given. If you give someone advice and they refuse to take it, what else can you do? :dunno

...that circles back to ....you can lead a horse to water....

Update......

Man you guys that can pull these in a Day are Freaking Awsome!!

no we are not, just lucky, next time you do one, you will be a f'n pro!
maybe just unbolt the core support and front body mounts then lift with a jack?

dont feel bad, i fought with mine too, i tried with the down pipe in, no go had to completely remove the sucker.
it took me a solid 30 min ;)
the injector line removal really really helped me.
but you dont wanna remove your IP do you?
if you go that route, make sure you make a center punch inbetween the IP and IP gear cover so that you can get it back to the OG setting.
and take the damn high idle solenoid and bracket off.

I'll try the Core support and front body mounts tomorrow.
I do think think the Down Pipe is the problem. Messed around with it No go.

These fitment problems can be infuriating. Once you get it you'll know what to do the next time and it'll be easier. Beer helps haha

this is why i put my DP on a 3" header flange.
3 bolts and a v band clamp, and its off...

but i welded up the flanges all funky.
one bolt sticks straight up and is hard to get to....
gotta get out of the " low and fast" mindset with this truck, it is neither LOL

i always weld the flanges like this on my gassers, but its usually because i slam collectors on the f'n ground
with 2" drop spindles on my goat, ive katered a few sets of headers

altho it would be badass if i got kicked off my local track for breaking the 10.99 w/o a cage LOL

i did think about cutting a section out of the cowl and patching it with some left over 4" exh pipe, that way the exh housing of the turbo will clear..
maybe when i pull the engine

cant fab anything with that damn R/T in my shop -cuss

So I'll just remove this body mount on either side and hope that it gives me enough room.

Anything special I need to know to remove it?
Im assuming it's pretty straight forward just remove the bolt on the bottom right?

Ya dont forget that the bolt has been on there the better part of 3 decades...Wire brush em, warm em with a torch and then hit em with your favorite Liquid wrench, makes the whole thing that much easier.

Front body mounts are a No Go there stripped.
Plus I don't have to right size socket and I'm not making a another trip to the hardware store. I'm thinking my down pipe is hitting the up pipe flange now if I can figure a way to get in there to unbolt it.

Im about at the end of the Rope with this.

Just looking at that pic of the body mount, it is smashed enough to cause you some clearance issues. Maybe cut off the 2 bottom studs on the turbo flange and after its off remove the remaining portion after its out, just a thought.
