I must eat crow...I read your sig and saw Hypermax and I thought he's got a turbo, Moose pump or similar is what he needs, now I read it's N/A, so yeah any of these pumps will be fine, but you probably should stay away from the Moose or DPS turbo cal pumps until you can afford a turbo (if you even want one). A stock 7.3 pump and you'll be in great shape.
And regarding psychohawk's post. I'd rather let Mel say what he has done to the pumps to make them work their magic, of course some of the tricks the Moose has are proprietary and I don't blame him for not sharing. I asked for examples myself of why the Baby Moose (High Quality stock rebuild) is any better than el cheapo rebuilds. He gave the example of the advance piston, how his guy checks it very thoroughly and unless he's sure it's ok it gets replaced. Wholesale rebuild kits are also not all created equal. I was told by another builder who seems reputable, has all the certifications and a lot of experience that the aftermarket rebuild kit is great except for the shaft seals which he insists should be Stanadye only. I don't know if Mel's guy does that with the Baby Moose and Moose but you are in fact paying for time, attention to detail, no cut corners, and the assurance it'll be right and you're dealing with someone of known good character and reliability if you do have a problem. A good stock build is available at plenty of other shops but not much cheaper as you found, and then you have to do the legwork to find the shop and verify it meets your demands. I went the local shop, Stanadyne authorized dealer route and it was just under $400 plus core charges. Did they cut some corners, maybe, but it's still clicking, holds timing and no obvious leaks after 28,000 miles or so.
