Reman IP Pumps (besides moose)

I should have said this before, I live a stones through from the US border, I have a mailbox in WA state, I have the pump shipped there. I'll phone my local IH dealer in the morning, I still can cancel my order with Uhaul if IH has one, I'd still rather buy local.

Called up the local IH today, $470 out the door for my pump it should arrive on tuesday.

Good to hear the price is the same on both coast's....I prefer to buy local when I can as long as the price is comparable because it's so much easier/faster to deal with the vendor if warranty is needed. Let us know how you make out with the new pump.

I'd be willing to pay for the two pack and split them with someone if anyone wants to save money...

I'm also interested in getting it moosed depending on the price... Just a ballpark would be nice I know it can't be set in stone

we could have em both shipped straight to Mel if the other party was interested too, then if he was willing ship 1 to me and 1 to you. IDK but 40 bucks isn't chump change for me at this time

I agree, Im glad I called IH, i really didn't wanna spend $700 on a pump from the local Fuel Injection shop, I'm still curious what they do different then IH or any other re-builder for that matter, maybe I'll call up and ask.

Any good videos/tutorials on removing the pump? I just logged into alldata but it didn't really say much, the lack of pictures in there write ups kinda hurts us visual thinkers.

it's pinned to the timing gear with a dowel pin so basically you just need to unhook the lines and connectors before you take the 3 smallk bolts out of the gear and slide the pump out...Very simple. DO NOT take the pump gear housing off or you will have to time the engine.

Is it possible to get the bottom two bolts out with a normal wrench? I have tried and gave up, that was quite some time ago though. Maybe I'll go buy a cheap wrench and bend it with the torch.

I was able to get a regular open end wrench to work on the bottom bolts, I just took it to the grinder for a bit.

I bought a $50 set of wrenches last year before christmas...well, two christmas's ago. In it came the "dog bone" wrenches and these weird shaped wrenches. The weird ones work on the lower IP bolts right out of the box. I couldnt believe that a cheap set of wrenches would work....it's not like them bolts are 100 ft. lbs. or anything, s the wrenches hold up just fine.

If I ever get around to this job, I was thinking about getting an ignition wrench from sears and seeing if it works, since they're curved. Dunno though.

I was able to get it with a stub wrench. I find it funny that I had no "specialty tools" for working on my Yota collection but I have bent 2 wrenches owning the IDI for less than a year!

I used an out of the box Craftsman wrench box end 12 point, no bending, etc.

Got my shiny new pump today!

It has a cat reman sticker on it, I'm anxiously awaiting the install saturday. I contempating doing it tonight in the driveway, but I'd rather devote a day to it in a nice warm heated lit up shop, Planning on installing my Hella 700 driving lights as well.
