I'm going to upgrade to some better headlights as soon as I find some. From what I've seen most of the kits out there aren't very high quality, so I'm not sure what to do.

Maybe someone here has had personal experiencing and can make a recommendation?

Great question wouldn’t mind having some suggestions myself. like You said to many options out there with most being cheap junk. I’d like to take it a step further and ask LED or HID? I had a set of hid’s on a past truck and loved them but have since seen the new led’s really improve.

Just tried the link and it was dead. I would like some led's. I need to drive with my highs on at night.

The HID and LED options still have quality issues. If your plastic lenses are cloudy a new set of headlight housings and some Sylvania Silver Star Ultra Halogen bulbs would make a huge difference. Don't forget about proper headlight adjustment.

That along with the a relay harness.
As far as blubs, a few months ago I did the relay harness, I got it along with some Alfas blubs from Bronco Graveyard.

The blubs were great - until yesterday when one low beam took a dump:confused:
Gonna call Bronco Graveyard tomorrow and see if they'll stand behind their products...

MOST retrofit LED bulbs have a terrible beam pattern. Check out Morimoto 2 stroke 2.0.
Depo brand replacement headlights aren’t too bad with the fluted reflector and clear lense.
I plan to install Morimoto M LED 2.0 Projectors. They have really came a long way. No ballasts etc now.

For led, look at the gtr lighting ultra 2.
You can youtube led bulb comparisons. Stay away from "headlight experts."

Just played this game. I wanted to stay away from LED's at this point, as the cheaper ones technically aren't road legal. I went with a set of Hella H4's (which I guess are also not technically road legal, but not as blinding to oncoming traffic). Building your own harness is really easy, using two relays, and taking power off the battery, versus running it through the switch. Switch is used to initiate the relays. There is a harness available from LMC truck, or get on youtube, couple of how-to videos for our trucks. The big issue is running higher amperage through the stock switch, it just doesn't take it well. I like the cut of the Hella lights, gives a nice crisp beam. They can be had for around 100.00, or watch ebay. I found mine NOS for 35.00. I ran the 55/60 watt bulbs, and it is a vast improvement over sealed beams. You can step up to 100 watt if you want flamethrowers.

For my brick I bit the bullet and bought the OBS Solutions Aussie conversion kit which lets you run any 5x7 headlight, glass, projector, or LED. $360 for the kit. I got Morimoto LED headlights, couldn’t afford the JW Speakers. I haven’t made time to install yet, need to fix developing cracks in the core support while apart and I can’t have it down very long.

Bronco graveyard has the harness premade which I installed on one truck after doing the other truck by the instructions from this forum.
That coupled with some sylvanias made an insane difference! The bulb upgrade I tried before the harness upgrade was still similar to having a troll on your hood holding up a lantern haha

LMC Truck has a set of clear headlight housings that work really well, match them with some Silverstar Ultra's and relays and you'll have some very useable lights.
