Any special trick to disconnect transmission linkage?
I was reading that you needed a tool to disconnect it.

I was reading that you needed a tool to disconnect it.

I use some WD40 a small pry bar. Work it nice and easy, it will come apart with no damage.

Ok this is getting very muddy..

At first I understood that you wanted to pull engine leave trans in truck. Thus the encoragement to disconnect TC from the flywheel.

Now it appears you want to remove trans too?

Please take a few minutes a d clear up what is going on

I'm pulling the transmission might as well clean and paint it.
Was going to remove the Raditator support but the bolts where rusted so I'll pull the engine then the transmission.

Wow 5 pages and I'm just now getting into pulling the engine.

Anyways got the engine pulled next is tear down.

Get that thing off the lift before the bolt holding the extension falls out.

Done and Done. Bolt was too long
Sitting on a stand now.

Yeah that would've been nice to have. What kinda of stand are you using?

harbor freight 1 ton stand.
2000 lbs.

More progress. Push Rods don't look bad at all.

Well both Rear Passages on the heads are full of water
Now the reason I started tearing this engine down was because it was Chuffing. Pulled drivers valve cover found loose push rods so far it's been pretty good until now.
