Ok quick ford fact question

I was looking at the pics from the rally and I noticed that all the duallys had sunvisors on them was this a factory thing or did everyone add them and if they did its weird that all the duallys had them at the IDI rally Just wondering

You mean the fiberglass visors that come out over the windshield? I've never seen those factory on a Ford (or any truck for that matter). Probably once you buy a Dooley you spend some money on Bling accesories.

Duallys have cab clearence lights, the reflection on the windshield at night is distracting. (at least from the lights on our vintage. New trucks may be better) The visor eliminates that.

Either that or as Jason said, we like bling.

i am so used too seeing trucks with visors that when i see a truck without one i think it looks stupid.my 95 dually didnt have one when i got it.i hated lookin at it so i found one in a junkyard and got it for free,had a friend squirt it at work for free and slapped it on. the reflection from the cab lights dont bother me but the visor also gets rid alot of the sun glare.

and as a side effect it also give you a clear spot on those frosty morning.Half my windshield is usually clear and a lot of the time there is hardly any on the glass while the rest of the truck is sparkly........and yes,we get frost and frozen stuff down here in bama!

Could they be a factory option-even though made by Lund?? Most of the visors I see look to be the same make.Both my trucks had them when I got them -identical visors. Another thing maybe standard on XLTs? Both of my trucks were XLTs 1 a 350 (1991 dually and the other a 250 4x4 (1984).
Any way I like them sure would miss it if it was gone.

Not a factory option. Dealers have been known to do that kind of thing though. I think the 92-96's look funny without them, so thats why I bought one for the '92. Didn't get the lights though.

The Lund brand visors are the only ones that are OK for use with a bug sheild too, which is another reason why they are popular. I've got one on the Moose Truck, but the Lady Moose has a different style/brand on it.

Thats what I was wondering if maybe one of the conversions companys was putting them on every dually CC I dunno the cab lights don't bother me on either of my trucks I do like the looks though of the visors

visors--hate em--and from what ive read--bangs your mileage a mite--i also dont like clearance-lights--bought rolled truck--guess what--they never went back on---

Centurion, Correct, they added them to thier conversion packages. The only reason that Lund is the most seen is because they are the best ones out there. and the best looking, imho, they reall meet the lines of the truck. My truck didn't have clearence lights so I am replacing my Lund visor with the lighted version that I have had in my garage form an old parts truck (Lady Moose's GV Doner)

My old 87 had one and it leaked from day 1 when I got it. Also I had a LTL9000 road tractor that also had one that looked like a Lund and when I bought it, it was a year old and it leaked. My 93 dose not have one and I don't ever want another want another truck with one.
Not only that on the LTL9000 if the wind was right you could hear the air build up under it and then lift the visor and it would bang the cab like some one threw a rock on top of the cab.
The way they are installed if they leak and the bolts/screws get rusty you can't get them out as the thing they put in the sheet metal will spin and strip and make things worse.

Just my $.02 worth.

if it leaked it wasnt installed correctly.i put a ring of clear silicone around the bolt holes and under the head of the bolt.i use self tapping screws to bolt them on.never had one leak or flop around.i wont own a truck without a visor.

I like my visors, and I like the looks of a Lund Moon visor, but, I don't like the fact that the visor will light up the hood and cowl at night... That's why I never did get the one I was going to get for my 460 truck. If I do get one for it, it will be a non lighted one like my diesel has.
